So I have seen a lot of people searching for these cigars. I bought 2 of them a while ago and I haven't smoked them yet. Do any of you guys know much about these cigars? Are they really that rare or are they just not easily accessible?
Thanks in advance guys!

Limited release from La Palina, supposedly never to be made again. So far La Palina has not re-released any of their LE cigars, which makes them all truly limited. The Mr Sam is my favorite of the last three LP LEs by a large margin.

Re: La Palina Mr. Sam
Only 850 boxes of 10 cigars made - thus only 8500 cigars. Compare that to 2500 boxes of Goldies, or 25,000 cigars.
While I haven't tried (or seen) a Mr. Sam, the reviews I have read were so-so.....but YMMV.

I have tried it and much like the reviews, I find it to be so so. As to the rarity, although the 850 was the number reported I am not so positive that is the case. For instance I was visited by the manager of a well known online boutique cigar dealer in November(whom I don't want to out publicly) and he told me that their parent shop in the LA area received 200 boxes of the Mr Sam. Granted they sold through them, but I doubt that one shop would've received 1/4 of the total distribution.

Had one, and quite enjoyed. Last year I had the Classic in a Robusto, and was impressed as well. They are firing on all cylinders, and would love to tracks down a box of Sams, to go with some #2s I am sitting on and about to crack into.

Reviews were great for the Goldie #2, but I thought it was just ok, very one-dimensional straightforward tobacco flavor. Not worthy of the praise IMHO, but hey thats why they make different models.

As others have said, it' was quite a limited production. La Palina's LE are one time runs.
I thought the Sam was outstanding and price considered, I'd smoke this over the Goldie 5. The Sam is a little fuller than the G5, with some pepper in there. Two thumbs up in my book.
