I have been called an "un-nice person"...

Post by WadeFillingame »

...and people actually suggested that the mods ban me from a board.

This was really very amusing to me, and some of you may get a kick out of it.

I post on some other boards that are shooting related.  On one that is for folks who shoot smokeless muzzle loaders. I am new to the practice and I recently asked a question about something so simple and basic that nobody talks about it, but to someone who's never done it it's not clear... Kind of like asking "do you take the cedar off?"

In any case in the process of asking I used the word "primer" in the context of a learning guide.  Now a primer is also a component used in reloading.  Probably not the best choice of words....

Soon afterwards one of the more senior members of the board asked me if I was referring to a primer for the specific application about which I was asking.  I responded by doing a cut and paste of the dictionary definition of Primer...

prim·er
1 [prim-er or, esp. British, prahy-mer] noun
1. an elementary book for teaching children to read.
2. any book of elementary principles: a primer of phonetics.

it wasn't meant as a jab, but hell broke loose.  The kind of reaction you'd get for going over to CF and taking a poke at Carlito or Drew a few yrs ago.  (odd thought, these days I can't think of anyone here or there that would get the same reaction these days)

In any case, there were a couple of times that I actually wished for mcraney's skill at pointed insults, though I did manage to call one guy a fuctard.  (he called me an ass munch first) :)

I haven't been involved in a good old fashioned flame session in a really long time.  It was actually kind of fun (my job here kind of precludes that kind of behavior from me)

There were a few posts that I found absolutely hilarious (and indicative of the population there)

[li]Hey mods....would someone boot this guy. This isn't productive.
Thanks[/li]

[li]MODS GET THIS UN-NICE PERSON REMOVE, PLEASE.[/li]

[li]I don't believe you talk to guys (and gals) like us in a way you just did
... Your writings were offensive.[/li]

Please, please, if anyone finds the board do not start any crap.  The place is a trove of information and I am trying to get to it and the last thing I want is a pack of hounds over there starting crap.

Add this to your resume...you are no fun either.

I was hoping a couple of dozen of us could troll the site  8)

Most boards have very little patience with newbies.
