Thank you for the info Wade! In that case, if enough other people were buying the roasted beans, would it be possible for me to buy less than 5lbs, say 2-3lbs? That is about all I would use in a month and I'd hate to toss all that coffee

been roasting our own beans for 2 yrs
thanx to Simmich.
5 lbs minimum sounds good to me.
I`m needing beans now.
I also buy Kenya AA, some high altitude Central American too.

Fantastic opportunity. For those who can't go through the minimum in 30 days, box split with family members. Yemeni is a great choice or perhaps a stronger bean like Ethiopian Yirgacheffe.

Just as a side note, any coffee can be used to make espresso. It is the process, not the bean.
Great coffee, cigars and whiskey. Love them all.

And to me the best espresso is a blend of up to 3 different kinds of beans with different roast profiles.

one city roast like  Sidamo of Yirgacheffe
one city + roast like Honduras or Bali
one full to dark roast  Brazil or Sumatra

For those of you that don't think you can go through 5 pounds in a month, think again.

This stuff isn't Maxwell House. You will hit it like it was a super model. Plus, the few times that I had some, the mooches come out of the woodwork for a cup.

OK, I'll get on this.  Depending on the origin bags run close to 120 to 150 lbs.  I can use about 50 lbs of that myself in a yr (I go through about a pound ± a week most weeks) so I need to sell the rest, and I'd rather not drag it out too long.

I'll get on the phone with the warehouse and see what they have in stock and do some cupping.

Can someone point me to a good beginners roasting site and decently priced equipment?
