Some of you who were getting roasted coffee from Sunbury Coffee have figured out that I've pretty much shut the coffee roasting business down; however, I do still have the ability to order coffee from the warehouse suppliers, and my personal stash has run low.
So here is the offering. I'll cup a couple of coffees and find something good and post a couple of options. If I can get pre-orders for at least half of what I buy (50 lbs to 60 lbs depending on the origin) I'll pull the trigger and get a full bag. Unlike roasted coffee that you really shouldn't keep for more than a month, green beans you can store for about a yr.
I'm looking for 5 lb minimum orders for green.
I'll cup and see what is available, but my initial thoughts are to try to find something that makes a great cup and a good single origin espresso (like a really good Yemeni) since I won't be ordering enough to blend.
If people want to get roasted coffee I can do that too, but I need to run at least 12 lbs at a time so I'm not going to fire up the roaster for one order.
This is just to judge interest. I'll order samples Monday and put some options with prices up shortly thereafter.

I roast my own beans at home. I live in Canada so if you would be willing to ship them here I'm in. I usually buy 16 lbs at a time as that is what will fit into a large prepaid USPS mailing box. How much per pound Wade?

I'd be interested in the roasted coffee b/c I do not have a roaster unless anyone knows if coffee shops are willing to roast your beans for you for a fee? I doubt I'dbe able to go through 5lbs in 1 month though.

Re: Green Coffee offering
Could freezing the beans extend the shelf life or would that compromise the end product? If freezing is a viable option, I'd be in for 5lbs of roasted beans

For those of you without an actual roaster, this is a cheap way to roast your own. It's a slippery slope though. :)

Slippery slope...kind of like buying a desktop humidor...
Freezing is not good. Beans are like cigars and freezing dehydrates them. The other problem once beans are roasted is that you release volatile oils that evaporate (lose flavor and aroma) or other oils that absorb oxygen and go rancid. The foil bags that I ship roasted in have a one way valve that lets the off gas pressure from the fresh roasted beans out and you end up with a purged CO2 environment that is good for about a month.
