How long to age Partagas SD4?

Post by Lo Phat »

Box says 2013. I smoked one, tastes nothing like one I got from a member here.  Buying a new, larger humi and have a cigar oasis XL on the way.

As long gas you want. Have some from early 90s which are phenomenal. These are great to age

Boli PC, QdO Corona, ERDM Demi Tasse, HdM Epi 2, Upmann Mag 46 would be a good spread that don't require more than a year to be good.

Try one every six months and you will see where you like them best. You can expect other boxes of the same cigar, from the same period, to age similarly, but change vitola or line and all bets are off. You may like some fresher (several good examples above), and find another than you like best with 10+ years (OpuxX, original ELs, etc). As to the original question...only you will know. But the difference between the 2 SD4s you have smoked may have nothing to do with age. Consistency is not a word that comes to mind when describing Cuban cigars.

Thanks for the info.  I'm going to try the Epi 2's, I like the price tag too.
