Customs...just how bad are they?

Post by ellabrow »

Hey All,

Recently had my first (purportedly) legit cuban cohiba and it was very nice indeed....now I am wanting to order some(this one was gifted locally) of course.

I was told by a friend at another site that *** are both reputable sources for boxes of cc's, and DAMN, those cohiba esplendidos are not cheap!  That being said I was planning on ordering a box of 15 but was wondering how often people get hit by customs?  I know it is a luck of the draw, but have ordered other things I shouldn't have and they have always made it through OK.

Also considering getting some samplers of CC's from vendors here, but just not familiar enough with brands to know what i want to go for.

SO, if anyone can give me feedback on the customs issues as well as those vendors that would be fantastic.

Mods if this is against policy please delete, no malice intended, just figured this was a better place to post this question than cbid lol.

Thanks guys!

Also, if anyone wants to recommend CC's to try that would be awesome, I prefer darker, oily wrappers and tend to like maduros over naturals in general, with the cohiba esplendido being an exception of course ;)

Just buy samplers of recent production smokes. You will have no idea what you like till you try it.

Also the only "maduro" cc is the Cohiba maduro 5 line.

Well Elliot,

As you know you are in violation of The Cuban Assets Control Regulations, 31 CFR Part 515. You are subject to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in individual fines. Civil penalties up to $65,000 per violation may also be imposed.  :gotcha: Just bustin your balls.

Oh and no outing of sources.

Hey,

Didn't figure it was a big deal since you can google and have those sites in less than five minutes...anywho, out of courtesy to the sites I will report the post and ask the mods to edit that out if that would make you ninny's happy.

I have tried, but on my older posts, the edit option disappears!  If anyone wants to enlighten me on how to do this or even just delete the thread that would be superb.

Customs is great. No complaints here.  They put a rush on all my incoming worldwide.

It is a spin of the wheel. Just like any other illegal activity, you are okay until you get caught.
