I recently picked up this montecristo #3? The boxes look okay but the cigar looks a little too neat? And I don’t see a double cap. The guy claims he orders them from Spain. Just looking for everyone else thoughts.

Boy it's really almost impossible to say. The band looks about right in my opinion. The cigar looks to have a double cap I'm certainly not seeing a triple cap. If these cigars were in petacas then I wouldn't be surprised if they looked a little 'off'. I'm of the belief that Cuba hides some of their mismatched/oddly rolled cigars in petacas and tubos. Ultimately it all comes down to source though. If you trust your source (or rather your sources source) then you're good. If you have concerns I'd bring them up with the seller.

Your comment, "The boxes look okay but the cigar looks a little too neat? "
That was the first thing I thought when looking at it.... it seems bit to "neat" or super smooth wrapper.
Just my $0.02

I don't know brother, I mean it's a monte 3 lol, if it was a Monte 2 or a 1935 dumas, maltes, or something more expensive than I'd be a bit more concerned and want to scrutinize it.
What does the box look like, stamps, serial number? Just looking at one cigar that looks essentially perfect it's hard to tell for me that it's a clear case of forgery. I see the double cap but the third could be underneath.
How do they smoke?
For me it's in the smoke, it either tastes Cuban or it doesn't.
Good Luck, let us know what you discover.

This is sort of how I feel about it. If one were going to counterfeit a CC why choose a Monte 3 instead of a far more expensive choice?

Bubba, hate to tell you but I have seen shorts that were fake. There's just too much $$$ on the table. And they tend to go under the radar as our reasoning from 10-15 years ago doesn't work anymore. John
