Boveda Alternatives?

Curious if there's any best thinking as to Boveda alternatives...

I have a handful of dry ones that I plan on rehydrating through standard means, but this made me curious if anyone out there uses any other product to keep their humidor at a specific RH.

I've heard of heartfelt beads, HCM beads, etc., but I seldom see people discuss what they're currently using or have found to work well. Thanks!

I have a desktop that I've used 65% pre-conditioned beads in for over 20 years. You do have to fuss with the beads more than Bovida packs, making sure not to over-moisten them, but the Bovida packs are disposable and more expensive. I also keep a couple of pounds of dry 65% beads in my Aristocrat to keep humidity from spiking. I do like the beads much better than foam humidifiers that use propylene glycol to regulate humidity. The trick is to spritz the beads with a spray bottle of distilled water so that 50-70 % (depending on ambient humidity) are clear/saturated.

I'm at the point now that I should probably order some fresh beads to replaceĀ  the 20+ year old ones that are kinda tired.
