Johnny-O WF 1966 and more

I've been smoking many years and a good buddy of mine suggested I try Johnny's cigars.  My friend does not give an easy compliment, he is very discerning so I jumped on the board and found Johnny's post and ordered 3 bundles to start with, Flying Pigs, WF Robusto Extra, and LC Robusto extra.  Smooth transaction and the cigars arrived extremely fast.  The Cigars were beautiful so I smoked one of each and I can truly say they were fantastic for being so fresh.

So now I'm hooked and I message John again about a week later and order more bundles including a bundle of the WF 1966.  Again they arrive lightning fast and in great condition.  Wow!  What a great looking cigar that 1966, shaggy foot, oily beautiful wrapper, so I clip it and light it right out of the box.  Wonderful draw on these, delicious flavor, baking spice, leather notes, and chocolate at the very beginning, develops into more cedar and oak character and then some cream character on it, finishes nice and flavorful with a bit more punch.  Just a beautifully delicious cigar, and right on point.  I have been smoking through these and they may never live to actually get any age on them.  I've already messaged John to save me a few more bundles. Did I mention I ordered siglos, bh54s, maybe some others lol.  I know, I have a problem.  Great cigars, great shipping, nice guy, I will eventually work my way through his entire list.  Everything I've bought has been great, can't say that about anyone else I've ever bought cigars from.  If you're thinking about it, just do it.  You'll enjoy the sticks.  Cheers.

Do like these as well. Bought a bundle of these about 18 months ago. All gone now. Great value.

It's the only WF of his I've tried, I'm working through a bundle of EL Siglo IV's now. If there are other WF's guys reccommend, I'd like to hear it...

...gotta say, nice sticks so far from J.O.

A bit on lighter side, but thats ok.  Dont need to smoke "strong" crap all the time.

Still wondering how aging on these will effect the cigar.  Dont think it can hurt...

Carry on....

I just “found” JO’s cigars but in my experience with every other cigar is that if they are phenomenal When new they will only improve as they age.  Same with most bad cigars, they are bad right out of the gate and age does very little to improve them.  Same for wine…

John's sticks can and will go thru a dumb phase in the first year.

no way to predict when, you may notice they do not taste as vibrant  a few months down the road.

no worries, just give them time.

after a year they will start to get really good, but it is hard to age them for years because they are so good.

I have a few 3 and 4 year old J-O sticks that I cherish, they are spectacular.....

Good to know Garbandz, and yes I have come across cigars that go through that phase, I recently found some HdM Le Hoyo de San Juan that are from 2015.  I bought a 15 pack of tubos years ago and I smoked through one of the 3 packs and then on the second 3pack the cigars went through that phase and I forgot about them and stuck them in the back of the Humi.  As i was making space for the JOs I rediscovered them and lit one, so glad I forgot them and found them again lol.  Love it when life rewards you with those lost treasures lol.  Cheers!

My oldest J-O sticks are from 2019. They are consistently really good sticks often with some greatness mixed in, just like many of the other cuban marcas.
Looking over my smoking diary for the year, looks like I have smoked 15 J-O in two months. No other marca came close. I have probably purchased another 150 J-O in the same time. The more I try ROTT, the more I double back and get more of the same vintage.
