I seem to recall a discussion a few years ago about how prices go up with aging.  I think I recall that most people figured an average of 10% per year to account for inflation, storage, etc.  Under that scenario, I assume compounding interest just as if it was your 401k. 

Does anyone else see it differently?  I know there's a certain element of takers that feel like they should only pay what you paid, but it wasn't them that had money tied up in a box for 5 or 10 years and the pay a weakened rate compared to what you paid due to inflation. 

That may be in usual years but in the last 6 months Cuban cigar values have escalated 2-3x in vale for many reasons if you read articles here and online. For example, a box of typical Cohiba Robustos will now cost or sell $1600- $2000 USD. This is if you can find them and prove them genuine lol.

I calculate 5-10%, depending on the rarity. Note that aged pricing seems to be out the window for the “premium” stuff that HSA raised drastically like Cohiba, Trinidad, Monte 1935, and RyJ Serie D’Oro. For those you’re lucky to get close to current MSRP for aged boxes.

OK, no aged boxes of the RYJ exist yet

Thanks for the info.  Take this scenario for example-PSD4 boxes are around $440 if you can even find stock ($17.60/stick). I have partial boxes from 2014, so $17.60 at 10% compounding interest for 7 years comes out to $33/stick.  (Numbers are rounded down).  Are you listing them at the $33/stick price? 

I'm not seeing much aged stock from stuff I have and while I'm trying to maximize my sales, I'm not wanting to hear crickets when I post them up either. 

The same calculations for my '99 BCG shows the per stick price to be $374 ($46/stick from 3 boxes sold at $1150/box) but I can't imagine them selling anywhere close to that.  I'm not a gouger but it's not fair to not be compensated fairly in today's conditions.

I think that assumption is fair pricing, especially considering partials. Personally I think $30/stick is dead on but if not in a hurry 33+ would move eventually.  IH has 2016 boxes at $980, they've been gouging since the price hike though...

Bolivar Coronas Gigantes discontinued, so their price can be nice. All you have to do is search online and see what they sold for this week for another guy. Aim high first and then reduce a bit if that does not work.

Last night I sold a box of Bolivar 2008 Gold Medals for $810. Add fees and shipping to China it will be over a G.  Second box like this. I am on BR.
