Here to review the Siglo IV from John. EL series. Man what a great cigar, let’s jump in: https://ibb.co/bKGKPd7
Appearance/smell/dry draw/feel: all so outstanding as you can see; this looks just gorgeous as could be. Construction is perfect, firm but just right. Smells sweet, graham cracker foot with a hay/citrus on the dry draw with cedar in the background for sure.
First third: Bang!! Sweet honey, huge cream and graham cracker notes with a coffee and cedar way back there, faintly. Citrus apparent on the exhale and even bolder on the retro. I get an amazing combo of honey, hay and cream up front with the aftertaste of graham crackers.
2/3: the honey is there and it’s almost fruity! Flavors begin to get slightly bolder with the cedar making it’s official introduction with toasted marshmallow as a sidekick! All the beautiful nuances of honey, hay, sweet cream and graham crackers are alive and well with that citrus twang on the finish. Aftertaste is BARNYARDY!
Final third: never even gets close to going out, perfect dime size burn the entire time way down. Not too bold but coffee/cream and cedar and dominating right now, front to back. I like this too as it separates itself from
The first 66% of the cigar. This one’s slightly young as many of John’s cigars come fresh so as the final third turns to nub, we get a bit bitter and I bail when that happens.
Overall I give this cigar an 8.8/10. The aging potential is insane on these and with a year on John’s cigars you’d shit yourself on how addicting these get!! Stock up fam, if you don’t know - now you know!
