Recent CC auctions have been run by OLH members and we have been discussing it on the sidebar. My first one ended the other day, successfully. I am no selling expert or cigar sales genius but I am very pleased with what happened.

Bond Roberts Cohiba 2007 Magicos Maduro. Sold

Note: Don’t text us to sell or buy info/shite. Just talking about BR

Good call on the first box for sale. I woulda sold those too. Wish I would’ve kept every EL I ever bought and tried for the same reason. Could’ve made a mint on BR.

If I’m gonna smoke a Maduro, I’ll save my money and smoke NCs. They do them just as well as CCs IMO.

Cuban profile just doesn’t lend itself to those beefy dark fire retardant wrappers. Overpowers almost the entire cigar. At least in my experience.

Couldn’t give away the 2011 RA ELs back then. Now they’re selling for a grand a box?!

Unreal I tell ya

Almost every time I've requested the payments to be transferred to my bank account (from BR), I was charged around $25-$30 incoming wire fee as well as around $30 or $35 fees which I believe have to do with exchange fees.

When I asked them about these fees, they told me to talk to my bank as they are sending me the entire payment.

1: this does not happen every time as there were times when I received the payment in my bank account and no fees were deducted

2: best bet is to combine all payments into one transfer request

As someone who works in banking - it sounds like BR send payouts to sellers via wire transfer?

If so, most US consumers will be charged by their own bank $10-$40 (depending on the bank) to process the incoming wire.

BR would be right that they are sending the full amount and the issue is your bank is charging you. Most likely your bank will tell you to get lost if you request a refund of the fee as well..

Fantastic comments and oooh yeeeah about RAExtra 2011. My favourite cigar of all I think and for years had to defend my choice. (Beav, you can have that shit rocket if you must!).-end quote lolol.

Just got this

You will receive an email once the winning bidder has completed payment. You can then proceed with shipment and withdraw your funds should you wish.

Like PP, if you keep it in their well and buy other auction stock, it stays fee free I guess. But jayzus then you get no $. Just more smoke.

Question from Matthew, my DH biz guy. Can the $ in the account there be used at FOH or the store? Could that keep the dough from having to leave down under?

Nope. They stink. Send yours to me and I shall dispose of them responsibly by pool this summer. With Canadian beer.

Eh, their FAQ is wrong.  JJ Fox is handling the withdrawals, and you will get a $20 flat fee deducted for those wire transfers.

Plus your bank may ding you with an incoming wire transfer fee.  There are some banks/credit unions that offer free incoming international wires.  I use Capital One's online bank and they have no incoming wire fees, either domestic or international.

JJ Fox is wiring out in US dollars, so you should see no currency exchange fees.

First auction I had zero fees. Paid exactly what auction closed at plus shipping.

Second auction $20 was deducted and it wasn’t by my bank.

Seems they use different methods to pay. All good though. No biggie.
