To hold onto Cigars you had arraged a trade with, but the other person hasn't been  on the forum since Aug 18th and I don't have his address and haven't received his half of the trade?

Really don't want to trade them out from under him,  but it seems like there's a reasonable limit to wait for contact.

Thoughts?

I sometimes get annoyed with those that expect responses in minutes, or even the same day, but at this point I think you’ve been stood up.  Time to move on after this long.  :smiley-cool:

Just message him saying you haven’t heard from him, so you’re cancelling the trade.  It’s been nearly a month lol

[/quote]Actually a friend of mine who is an admin on the forum in question is also friends with him and hadn't heard from him since the 17th and became a little concerned as well,  so he texted him and he's fine, just been extremely busy. 

He has my end of the trade packaged and ready to go to the post office,  and I have had the tracking number for a few weeks,  just didn't know that it was for his package

He contacted me yesterday and apologized for the wait (which wasn't necessary to me), so the trade is still on once he is able to find his package as apparently he can't find it currently, lol

Would have waited for him even if he hadn't contacted me, just based on our mutual friend saying he was ok and just very busy.

He's a good guy and I really was hesitant to trade them out from under him,  but it had been a while without any news, so was beginning to assume he was no longer interested.

Story has too many red flags for me to feel comfortable with.  It's hard to carry on a conversation where texts/emails are spaced out that long unless it's about a process that is going to take months or years to complete.  A cigar trade does not fall into that category imo.
One week after the initial contact/deal being made I would have politely responded and just let it be know I've changed my mind and move on.

He's a good,  stand up guy and a very trusted long time member,  and has sent me many Cigars just because he's generous,  and our having a mutual friend carries a lot of weight with me.

Also,  I dont have anyone else who is wanting them at this point,  so no hurry on them anyway. I'm willing to wait until he finds the box and gets a chance to get to the post office.

Sigh.

This thread was started before I even knew he and my friend were friends,  and days before he contacted him, and days before he finally contacted me about the deal, and I was considering finding someone else to trade them to thinking he was possibly no longer interested.

And it was posted on multiple forums to get more responses since no one forum has particularly high traffic,  and even fewer would respond to a particular thread.

This changes things completely!  If he’s a good friend or I’ve dealt with him many times before, I would wait however long it takes for him to respond and decide whether he still wants to do the trade or not.  I will say that the delay might mean deep down he thinks the trade is uneven or something.
