Wasnt America founded by illegal immigrants? English, Dutch, Spanish landing in the 1600's and taking the land from Native Americans?
Another way of looking at it?

Sure, if you can cite the law that forbade the arrival of the Europeans. Not saying that colonization was fair to the indigenous people, but it was not illegal immigration.

They tribes were raping and pillaging amongst themselves for hundreds of years. The stronger tribe usually won. The European settlers where a much stronger tribe. The American indians hadn't even discovered the wheel yet.

Native Americans acted far different than most history books would lead you to beleive.

Hey, I wasn't the one to have to point out what the posters above have highlighted. Someone else has actually thought about the history in context.
You can't apply 21st century morality (if that's even a thing) to 16th, 17th,and 18th century events. Stone age tribes encounter more technologically advanced tribe, domination ensues. Sure, some of the things that were done were abominations even then and would probably have been rejected by the populous had they understood them (smallpox infected blankets comes to mind) or maybe not.
You also can't compare the need for immigration to the USA in the 19th century to that of the 21st century. In the 19th and early 20th centuries the USA was an expanding nation on an empty (other than aforementioned stone age tribes) continent. That is not the case today. The USA is slam full of people, some places, like the southwest including Kali are beyond what the water system should reasonably support, NYC is what 8 million people now? The FLA water system is challenged in drought years.
I like this line from the closing paragraph of the above linked eassay:
[list]
[li][i]"...Do the anti-Columbus activists who claim Europe’s conquest of America is a sin really want to live in a world where it never happened? Where America is an illiterate, technological backwater of tribal violence and ritual human sacrifice? Of course not. ..."

If they do I might suggest a sabatical to the horn of Africa to realign their paradigm
