6 threads on the first page, some of them have been bumped 11 or 10 times - maybe you should get the hint that nobody wants your stuff.

You could at least combine your many threads into one and then bump only that one every five minutes instead.

I agree whole-heartedly, but, unfortunately, Wade did not delineate any rules regarding this type of behavior.  I guess it's one of those rude behaviors that's technically allowed. :-\

There is no rule against it right now.  I'm thinking about some things to try to control this stuff.  I don't have time right now, but I need to look into the settings and see if I can limits posts per day, or baring that add a rule that you can top once every 24 hours.

The problem with that is that I know that I'll get hammered with reported posts for a while.  My world has been pretty hectic for the last few months and I just don't have the time to give to the site that I usually do.  It is something I need to work on.  (along with migrating the site to an updated platform)

Hey, we know this forum is a one person hobby and we appreciate all you do to keep it running, even amidst hectic life stuff.  No good deeds go unpunished.

Maybe these post-happy folks will up and get it and there will be no need for new rules, reported posts, and hammering.

On a golf forum, the BST rule is:

One active listing at any time
You cannot relist an item prior to 30 days of closing the old listing
You can update your thread or bump it, but your thread will remain in its position(meaning you can't bump it to the top with any "TTT" or even price updates.

Any change would have to be something that is automated, otherwise it's going to be too much for anyone to police by hand.

I don't have any knowledge about how configurable SMF is, but could there be a way to change the default header / sort for the TSBC to be reverse chronological *first post*?  That way, any reply wouldn't top the thread.

I would prefer that kind of behavior anyway.  I hate having to top one of my for sale threads with a "everything is sold folks" reply that then leads to a dozen "do you have any left" PMs.
