Great Lyrics.....

Ok, this isn't about great songs, that's another discussion. This is that one line in a song that just emotes a ton more than the words.
[li]Does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours?[/li]
[li]Freedom's just another word, for, nothin’ left to lose.[/li]
[li]There may come a day I will dance on your grave, if unable to dance I will crawl across it.[/li]
[li]I’d like to find your inner child and kick its little ass.[/li]
[li]All you ever gotta do is be a good man one time to one woman
And that'll be the end of the road, babe.[/li]
[li]She spoke in riddles while the vodka listened…[/li]
[li]she told me to come, but I was already there[/li]
[li]run your finger ‘round the rim of his glass, run your fingers through his hair…fade to black[/li]
[li]I’d trade all my tomorrows for one single yesterday…[/li]
[li]The sun is settin' like molasses in the sky… [/li]
[li]She would have sent blue shivers down the wall.[/li]
[li]He just grinned and shook my hand; “no.” was all he said (later in The Weight there is “…but my friend can stick around” which is another wonderful turn of phrase)[/li]
[li]Glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity[/li]
[li]If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.[/li]
[li]Prayin’ for the end of time so I can end my time with you.[/li]
[li]You can’t run away forever, but there is nothin’ wrong with getting a good head start.[/li]
[li]You call some place paradise, kiss it goodbye.[/li]
[li]You’d sell what is left of your soul for another go ‘round.[/li]
[li][/li]
I reserve the right to add to this list.
I'm a big fan of lyrics. The music is important, and I can jam my arse off to some silly stuff (e.g., Nickleback), but I really love the combination of great music and an intelligent turn of a phrase. (the second part I find lacking in much of the music released today.
My thoughts for this thread aren't for great song lyrics, but for that one line that just leaps out and means something.
