Thanks to the guys on here and a few good vendors I've been enjoying CC's for a couple of years. I'm still in my infancy when it comes to having real knowledge on the cigars, and I am hoping to find a resource to help get the details of some of the cigars I enjoy.

My googling has failed to find a resource that lists the types of tobacco in the blend (the priming, region, variety, etc) or any specifics on the type of rolling method used in the factories and where/why the blend originated. The closest I have found is cubancigarwebsite which is great, but lacks a ton of detail on each individual cigar.

It's all book stuff and not incredibly important to the enjoyment of the cigars, but if anyone knows of a resource that has this type of information for regular production and LE CC's it would be appreciated!

I was like that with non cc's. I used to love doing blind tastings, and try to figure out what the blend, origin, and manufacturer was. You could say I was a cigar geek, now I am just a geek. LOL!!! :bangin:

Good luck - I was interested in this very topic when I first got into CC and there is precious little information available!  You can check the Habanos SA website as well as cubancigarwebsite.com to learn a little about which region produces the tobacco for the specific marcas.

Beyond that, your guess is as good as anyone else's.  Unlike most NC companies which actively promote their blends, Cuba tends to keep it under wraps for whatever reason.  I was told by Rob @ FOH that in order to meet production quotas, Habanos SA will sometimes even substitute different tobaccos into blends, though I have not come across any cigars that seemed to be blended differently than their normal recipe.

Your best bet is to just rely on your taste and keep it strictly academic and theoretical.  I've got some guesses as far as wrapper tobaccos go, but it's nothing that can be verified (unless you're tight with somebody at Habanos SA).  For instance, H Upmann always seems to suggest some sort of corojo-ness to me (which I absolutely love!), the RyJ Ex #4 is most assuredly the best Habano-wrapped stick I've ever had, and I would wager that Por Larranagas are draped in a rustic but very flavorful Criollo 98.

I'll keep smoking and take notes on my guesses :) NC's are easy to find info on! Those Cubans are tough eggs to crack

Good luck on your search for info. I think many of us would like to know the answers to you questions... but I have to believe the bulk of this information is proprietary in nature, and thus guarded very closely? If you do come across anything that could shed some light, please share  ;D

Any updates on information you might have found?

Habanos does not advertise blends, and the rollers get there tobacco each day from the cage and they know blends as, for example with a cohiba robusto, 2 volado, 2 seco, and 1 ligero. The factories have the ability to track which regions and farms the various leafs come from, but rarely do. So finding a good resource like the one requested will be tough. And what one may find may not be real accurate cause the factories are on tight on those type of things.

Not positive here but I think in the past you could get at least some info. Regarding this stuff on CA. They are constantly going on about CCs and usually have a nugget or two of info. within their otherwise obnoxious reviews.
