Have you ever had one of those cigars that you try just for the heck of it and it turns out to be one good smoke. Mine was a Punch Rare Corojo Rothschild. A good little $3.00 smoke that had some good spicey flavor, not a great smoke everyday cigar but a good cheap cigar. Anyone else had any unexpected luck????

Believe it or not, mine was the AVO LE-5. A local here had a box on the shelves for quite some time and I had no idea what they were. I decided one day to buy one after there were only 2-3 left. I took it to a local herf here and fired it up. I said DAYUM!! This is one fine smoke to SIG111. I let him know I was going to buy a few boxes of them. He let ME know they were extinct. I still managed to procure two boxes here in town. All is good!

April 2007 I smoked my 1st shark gifted,to me by a beautiful CF sister...I was so knocked out by the taste, the burn and the ash.
Chances are I may never enjoy another shark but this one I shall always remember.

My firsst Diamond Crown maxximus with at the CFC at Soaring Eagle. I had no idea what to expect and like a total noob, briought no cigars in with me.

I opened the box and took out the MAX. My cigar experience was changed. Now I knew what a cigar CAN taste like.

The AVO 80th really surprised me. I was not expecting it to be such a great smoke.

Recently?

I would have to say the La Aurora 100 Anos W. Curtis Draper LE Figurado.  I am not a big 100 Anos smoker.  I like the 1495 line better.

But this large figurado uses the top primings and tastes great and is less filling.    ;)

I think my favorite has been the Casa Fuente Corona Gorda...absolutely loved it, then found out how much they cost.  The other was the Tatuaje RC 184...then I found out they're not sold in singles, and another $18 smoke :)  I'm still searching for that great budget smoke.  Still like the AF CBs, but they didn't "shock" me.
