Diamond Crowns

These have got to be about my favorite non Havana smoke, and anyone who says "mild" is lacking in ability to describe them and confusing smooth with mild. Opus have bite and spice, Diamond Crowns don't have the spicy twang, but the flavor is huge.  It's like comparing a spicy gumbo to a hearty beef and barley.

My good friend Fred D, who smokes and has smoked pretty much everything made, says the worst cigar buzz he ever got was from a Diamond Crown. Then there is the wrapper that is always pure perfection and the construction and burn are always impeccable.  FFOX RdCs have never been able to burn this good, ever.

I do love FFOX, but the flavor there isn't what it was in 2000, I think the increase in production there over the last 15 yrs or so has resulted in more ligero bite and less balance than in yrs past.  I used to get spice a spicy, leathery flavor from them, but today it's just a blast of ligero that lacks balance.  Diamond Crowns on the other hand are pretty much unchanged, and decidedly tasty.

I think I'll pour a bourbon and go sit outside of the hotel with the last one I brought with me.  (thanks Scotty  :bangin:)

I'd say anyone that says the Diamond Crown Conn lacks any flavors is smoking too fast and is not smoking it slow and enjoying it.  Packed with smooth flavors!

Huge fan of the DC line. Just attended a DC event last week and had a great time.

One of my first WOW cigar moments was while enjoying a DC Julius Cesar Robusto.

A side note about the quality of JC Newman service and employees.... I purchased a new DC Alexander humidor which came with a DC hygrometer and humidifier. The batteries in the hygrometer had exploded and the replacement hygro was off by 3%. 3% by me is acceptable for any other hygrometer except a DC, and they felt the same. One message on Facebook and I got a phone number and they shipped me out a new one, no questions asked as well as a brand new humidifier(bonus). The new hygro is spot on. 1st class service and 1st class products.

Only Diamond Crown I have had is the Julius Caesar, and I love em. About $17 for the toro at my local TAA-Affiliated B&M. Not too cheap but not too expensive. The construction is fantastic, it smokes like a champ. The flavor is amazing, I would say it's like an Alec Bradley Prensado but just a bit better.

The DC grid iron great is very under rated and a great morning smoke with coffee.

The Julius Caesar is definitely one of my favorites....  The only downside is that my local shop doesn't carry them.  I have to get them online.

It is a different blend they make it special for their lounges or for stores that sell a lot of their product.
