Has anybody seen these around lately or has Xikar discontinued production? Can't seem to find any recent listings/info on Google, they were a really good value and I hope they're still around.

I bought one a few years ago and had to return it. I love the xikar brand and have always had great customer service. Unfortunately I was unimpressed with their humidors. When I received the humidor, the lid was crooked, and some of the cedar inside had splits in it. I called either xikar, or the retailer (I cant remember which), and they said they were having some quality control issues. Shortly after that I no longer saw them on the xikar website, and don't believe they are in production.

That's really unfortunate. I found one on one the auction sites for $70 and was really impressed with it ,especially for the price. Maybe the overall problems with the construction caused them to be discontinued but I'm really hoping they put them back on the market. I'm looking for another large desktop humidor in the same price range and was really hoping to find another .Got any good recommendations for a substitute?

To be honest, I dont use a desktop anymore. Desktops look nice, but coolers and tupperwares work better for me. I spent a bunch of money on a daniel marshall cabinet, but I put my best sticks in a 100 quart cooler with weatherstripping.
If you like the look of a desktop, cigarbid has a ton. They are usualy cheap, and probably every bit as good as the xikar.

I might have to give setting up a cooler a try because I could definitely use the extra storage space. I think I'm in denial because I have 3 large desktops and about 5 ziploc bags with drymistat sticks(all filled to the max) so it's about time to graduate to the next step. I'm just afraid that having the extra space will cause me to buy more sticks. Do you have any pictures of your current setup? I buy a lot of singles and 5 packs so I'm thinking I'll have to install some drawers of some sort.
