Just a rant to start your day! :gotcha:

With my recent buying spree in cigars. I've been noticing cigar opinions as being very subjective, in how they are recieved.  
 What I mean by this,  is the flavor and what you get back from people's opinions on a cigar. They seem to be so affected by things, like who is who in the cigar industry. Advertisment!  The back story on a cigar etc.

Make the cigar a limited release and put an end on the name like "reserve" and watch out the animals go crazy.

Case in point,  I've come to really like these Legend Pipen Garcia Yellow label cigars, but I keep seeing negative post on them.  I dont feel I have that bad a taster.  I seem to know whats good and whats not to a certain digree..  But the fact that this is one of the low end legend cigars put out by CI seems to be a factor... [i][b]They cant really be any good right? [/b] [/i]  ;)

I get the distinct feeling that taste  and opinions of such can be scewed and or affected by this lemming type behavior. The following the crowd type of thing in the online cigar circles.. If the bunch all start saying these are great,  then here come the lemmings to parrot the same..  and the opisite is true as well..

Just a new and growing observation of mine is all.. Your comments are welcome.

FWIW, my opinion is if you like something you like it. 

Now, you may change your opinion later and detest something you liked previously.  :bla:

I agree.  Very subjective.  Some sticks live up to the hype and others do not.  I'm happy that there are a lot of different flavor, strength, size and price profiles out there from which to choose.  :)  To me, the fun part of this hobby is trying different cigars and finding what I like and dislike.  Kinda exciting.  Like the never ending quest for the perfect cigar. 

Taste is subjective, Bad construction( barring poor storage conditions) Isn't. :)

I also agree concerning the subjective nature of taste.  I have tried a number a various domestics including some of the flavored. Some I liked, some I didn't.

But I have also found that as my taste developes, some of those I liked at first, I no longer care for at all. A couple of those that I disliked at first, I found may have been the result of poor storage either by my shop or myself because future samples were favorable.

My tastes have evolved too.  I get a good chuckle at some of the sticks I enjoyed when I first started smoking.

Cigar opinions are like assholes, everybody has on.  :boty:  With that said I find that I don't care for some of the Pepin blends, others I really like alot. I can't say whether I like the ci legends or not but I do believe the guy is spreading himself pretty thin over a short period of time. And because of this I think their may be construction and flavor profile issues.  :bla:

Maybe you're suffering from the reverse-lemming syndrome?  What if those are really crappy cigars but since you see the name Don Pepin associated with them you've tricked yourself into liking them? ;)

Just giving you a hard time, taste (of anything) is so subjective you just have to find people who have tastes similar to yours and listen to their opinions instead of [b]everyone's[/b].

Uh, life is subjective.  Remember, you're unique just like everybody else.  :nana:
