Common sense..

Why common sense is very uncommon on this forum?!
Making rules without the teeth to enforce them is futile. Establish a framework to enforce the rules, before making them.
If a seller or a buyer is unknown, do little work. Ask him for references, ask him to ship first, etc. If you get burned, it is partially you fault for not doing your part. Be responsible, learn from your mistake, and move on.
According to the forum owner, this forum is no longer associated with CF. The false sense of entitlement needs to go away.
CC prices vary dramatically. It all depends on where and when they where acquired, the currency was used, and method of payment. CC are illegal. If you are here to buy CC, that mean you are afraid to order for yourself. If you know how to get them cheaper, then please help yourself.
If you don’t like the price of anything sold here, just move on. Don’t be judgmental- saying it can be had for such and such. No one knows how the seller acquired them, how much he paid for them, or how much taxes were paid. So, jumping to conclusion that the seller must be making a killing, is very premature. Even if he does, just don’t buy from him. Cigar are on the top of luxury – it is not a life support (at least for some..:)
Some people here are sucking the fun out of a good hobby. … relax, smoke a good one, and remember the original reason you are smoking a cigar.

Well stated. Common sense has always been an uncommon attribute. I believe that hard rules are appealing to those who don’t wish to think too much for themselves...

Are you willing to cover the fakes that have popped up on this site...or cover the tens of THOUSANDS of dollars from deals gone bad?

I think the term he used was "linked". Meaning there was links from CF to here that have been removed. Very different situation.

Did anyone hold a gun to your head and force you to buy fake Cuban cigars?

No I am not, and I don't expect any sane person to do so.
Adult people should be responsible for their actions. TL situation was written scam all over it from the very beginning. I personally PM TL asking him where he get his cigars from, and the story he gave me (and gave everyone) didn't make any sense, and I walked away. That was when I joined the forum
People should do their due diligence, don't be blind by greed, and when something goes wrong, hold themselves accountable.
If some common sense is used, none of this drama would be here.

Well stated post........I'm not a CF guy but I come here to explore and enjoy cigars. I do more buying than selling. In fact, I haven't sold anything yet. All the deals I've done with guys have went smooth as silk and I haven't bought any fakes yet! It sucks when you get sucked in. I think things here are headed in the right direction and as long as everyone watches out for each other and takes care of home base it'll all pan out. I enjoy being able to try out a fiver before I spring for box and don't mind paying a little extra for the experience. I'm certainly not going to pay 2 times the face of what my vendors charge though. I don't care how old they are! Discontinued brands or special editions may take a little more contemplation with the wallet. Have fun, do your home work and don't get crazy chasing the white elephant. Maybe I''m just one of the lucky ones but in over ten years of trading, buying and selling different hobby stuff on line I've only been burnt once that I can remember. If it's too good to be true or there's only one place in the world you can get anything, you better have your eyes wide open and the peanut butter outta your ears. So many cigars...so little time.[/b]
