...I don't understand the rush to jump on someone or what they are offering. Protecting others around here from fraud is noble and all that, but what about trashing someones reputation BEFORE they have even been found to be selling anything fake or trying to pull a scam?
There have been folks that have been robbed for 25K on fakes. There are literally thousand and thousands of fake cigars that have changed hands and are currently in circulation. Some by good people that do not know better. Spend the next 15 years on a half dozen boards and tell me what you think. This isn't the criminal justice system. Nobody has to be presumed innocent until found guilty.
We will see how this one turns out. Best wishes to you.

I know the point you are making and I clearly stated I appreciate the efforts of those here who warn the forum when something doesn't pass the smell test.
That is not the same thing as a group of people piling on and maybe ruining someone's reputation here and on other forums they may visit with no proof of that person being guilty of anything. The only thing I have heard reported here is that someone jumped the gun and made erroneous accusations about these cigars and ended up saying they seemed real after all, when the cigars arrived.
In this case, the seller had only very positive feedback, which is available to us all. The accusations seemed out of place and I just brought it up for people to consider before adding to the pile of crap he was getting.
I have actually seen a CBC Marketplace report that said even in Canada where they are legal, counterfeit Cubans cigars make up a large portion of the market. I hope they were full of shit. Thanks for your comments, sir.
so what do you propose? It's the old adage... Can't get a job without experience... Can't get experience without a job.
Here you have the same situation with selling cigars and credibility.
You can choose to trust or not to trust each offer as it comes. That's really all any of us can do. But really if everyone who is not "known" to be a reliable seller from a small group here gets pasted just for posting that they have a cigar for sale, then that kind of keeps the circle of people who are considered reliable very small. While I don't trust everyone, believe me. I tend to think that not all of the honest people in this world have already found this place. Just my .02

I just got done smoking the Cohiba from AndyJCL. That was my first cohiba el 2014 so I have nothing to compare it to but I have smoked all of the other cohiba ELs and I found the cigar from Andy very similar to previous releases. I'll probably pick up a box of these when they are released. Then I'll know for sure.

I think the issue really just arises when someone who is not a well known seller comes out here with a really really HTF (for most people at this point) cigar, with limited provenance. If Andy was selling a 25-ct box of PSD4's I don't think anyone would bat an eyelash. So, someone raised a flag. Right or wrong, make up your own mind. It's whomever's prerogative to start a thread like this, and yours to determine whether its valid or not.
I have dealt with Andy in the past (as a seller, not a buyer) and have nothing but positive things to report.

Re: Cohiba LE 2014 Robustos Supremos $50 shipped
Here's what I picked up this weekend. I got this from a very reliable source. If I wanted to try a single EL or a Regional, this source is where I usually get them. Everything looks on par with the photos online.Since these aren't released yet, I'm starting to question if these are real. I'm planning on smoking this in 2 weeks on a trip I'm taking, which will be the real test.
But what do you guys think?

I think by looking at that scale and the gauge that you are a coke dealer that likes your 8 balls to be right on the money and your kilos to have very specific measurements. :rotf:

Hey, don't judge. Got to fund my cigars habits somehow. And it's heroin not coke, sells better

I want that measuring tape!!
There are guys smoking the Partagas and Bolivars EL 2014 right now and none of our retailers so far have them. Well, at least the big retailers I use.
