Re: Triple Ligero sells fake HTF cigars
I am really confused as to why he is still refunding people. Seems like the worst scam ever.

Re: Triple Ligero sells fake HTF cigars
I know this is pretty much a dead issue at this point, but I was looking through some old posts for something and TL's cigar pics are still on this site if anyone is looking for them:
Quoting this because it appears that TL has deleted these two photos from his photo album. One was a picture of a lancero with a single palm leaf band on it, the other was a picture of one of "his" lanceros with a Cohiba band and a palm leaf band on it.
If anyone archived these photos, please contact me.
In the meantime, I've archived every photo he has up in his photo album in anticipation of their deletion.

Sorry randomhero I just have to ask, just an honest question. Why did you say that "simply one of the best BOTLs out there!" about TL , if the cigar band "is pretty far off". Just curious.

Good news. I have learned a lot from this incident. I was always very careful of who I have purchased from on here. I always looked at the feedback sections of sellers. But after this with all the people vouching for TL saying how great he was, I will not be trusting that any longer. Just have to go with a gut feeling and hope for the best.

and hoping that common sense comes into play at some time!

Yes, I have some Montes with mixed bands from that time period. However, we are talking about ELs. These things should be perfect. The printing on my 1966 EL I was gifted is pretty far off.

The thread may be about EL's, but the comment I quoted seemed to be a generalized statement about all Cohibas, which some think will never leave Cuba if there is any minor flaw. And that just isnt the case.

Agreed, that's been my experience as well. Cuba "being Cuba" allows counterfeiters broad latitude to explain away some inconsistencies.
Others are just blatantly obvious.

Because when I got the single stick, I really didn't look at it. I had nothing vested in it. But when all of this came out, I took a good look at the band, the printed letting over the embossed lettering doesn't line up. It's actually pretty far off.
At the time, he was generating a lot of donations for the site and sent me what appeared to be a very rare stick for nothing. Given all the previous praise, as much as I thought it was odd he had such quantity, I didn't question it.
I owned up to it. I said in this thread earlier somewhere that I feel like a douchebag for calling this guy a BOTL.
I never bought because of doubt and I regret my comments. Believe me, I wish I could remove them.

Interesting question

Don't know what else to say. I feel like a total douche. As I had doubt, I didn't want to rock-the-boat given all the :nana: and positive comments going on, as well as all the donations going to Wade. It seemed that a lot of people bought in. He sent me a stick because I made a comment that I thought his donations were very generous.
Turns out he is a fake, his cigars are fake and I used the term BOTL on someone who clearly doesn't deserve it.
