Cohiba Secretos
Aesthetics: nice dark brown wrapper (not really black just dark brown) with a nice sheen to it. no nicks or tears or anything to mare this very nicely put together cigar. 9.5
Construction: great weight and size. no blemishes, no soft or hard spots just a good spongy feel when gently squezed. 8.5
Cut and pre-light draw: cutter sailed right through this one, prelight draw was solid, with a bit of sweetness to the taste. 8
First few puffs: coco krispy taste. 4 pts.
taste: This is not your normal cohiba. the tastes were of coffee (mild expresso) with a bit of chocolate and slight cream. this cigar was very suttle, the taste would change just a bit with each puff, one more expresso the next more chocolate the next a bit of sweet cream. 8.2,8.2,8.2,8.2
Final reaction: I nubbed this baby till my fingers HURT. I can't use my right index finger to type with right now becasue it hurts from the burn. no change in taste right up the the 1/4 inch remaing mark. 4.9
burn and draw: Draw was perfect no problems what so ever. Burn was solid the wind from this morning had toned down so was not effecting this at all. loads of smoke rolled out of this little baby. 9.3
Strength: medium in strength with smooth taste. 8.8
Total score is 9.5+8.5+8+4+8.2+8.2+8.2+8.2+8.2+4.9+9.3+8.8=85.8 great sized cigar with great taste. man I wish I had not liked these so much, cost is going to keep me from stocking up on to many of these.

06 El Ray del Mundo Choix Supreme
Aesthetics: good looking golden brown wrapper with a small tear in the foot. 7
Construction: Well rolled with no flaws seen, just the cracked wrapper at the foot. Felt a good weight with no noticible soft or hard spots. 8.5
Cut and pre-light draw: Xicar sailed through. pre-light draw was very good, just the right amount of resistance, inital taste was of tabacco with a bit of a sweet taste (can't quite place it).8
First few puffs: honey(thats what the sweet taste was) and cream with toasted tobacco. 5
taste: first bit was all honey, cream and tobacco. next 1/2 the cream dies off and a vanilla bean flavor takes over. last 1/4 the sweet goes away and a bitter tanic taste emerges. 8,9,8,5
Final reaction: started out good, but went to pot at the end. I think I need to let the other nap for a while. 2
burn: solid burn, the crack in the foot did not cause any problems at all. 9
Strength:light side of medium. good morning cigar and goes well with coffee. 8
That should = 7+8.5+8+5+8+9+8+5+2+9+8=77.5 great construction and burn, great start but ended badly. Does need a bit more time to mellow out in the humi. will be revisiting these in a year or 2.

96 Fonseca Cosacos
Aesthetics: nice looking tan wrapper with no blemishes. nice yellow paper wrapper. 8
Construction: spot on construction. no soft or hard spots. 8
Cut and pre-light draw: cutter sailed through for a perfect cut, draw was a bit loose, nice light tabacco taste. 7
First few puffs: first few puffs were of expresso and tabacco. 4
taste: not very complex. the expresso was the dominat taste throughout the smoke, with just hints of mocha, cream, and clove. the light tabacco taste just added a bit to the overall good but not great taste of this cigar. I give a straight 7 for taste. 7,7,7,7
Final reaction: no real change at the end stayed smooth till the final nub. 4
burn: solid burn. 9
Strength:light side of medium. good morning cigar and goes well with coffee. 8
That should = 8+8+7+4+7+7+7+7+4+9+8=76 good but not great. smooth morning cigar to have with coffee.

Nice review Adam. Have been told that these age out poorly past the 6 year mark or so, (too mild & the flavors become muted). Guess your review bears this out.

Le hoyo du Gormet from 2002
Aesthetics: nice looking TOOTHY palma sized cigar. color was a nice golden brown. 8.5
Construction: spot on construction. no soft or hard spots. 8
Cut and pre-light draw: my xikar sailed through this one. Draw was spot on, with a sweet tobacco taste. 8.5
First few puffs: fired it up and a strong coffee flavor hit me. 4
taste: Coffee was the dominate flavor throughout the smoke, although it changed some. Started out as a strong expresso with a bit of cream and slowly changed to more creamy kona coffee flavor. some bitter chocolate tastes developed about 2" in and really inhanced the experience. The flavors entensified as you went along. 8,8,8.5,9
Final reaction: I smoked this down to the Nub, if I had a tooth pick I might have gotten a few more minutes out of it but not much more. Finished with a smooth, creamy, slightly chocolate coffee taste. 4.5
burn: solid burn. 9
Strength: This was a solid medium to start and went down to a light medium at the end. Body of the cigar was still their that it kept you interested. This will never be mistakend for a Opus PL but was good in its own right. 7.5
That should = 8.5+8+8.5+4+8+8+8.5+9+4.5+9+7.5= 83.5

'98 H Upman Conn #1
Splendid CG with a dry looking, medium brown wrapper that had two minor veins running through it. The foot revealed nice, even bunching. Light in the hand, no soft or hard spots were detectable. Clean looking triple cap sat atop this beauty proudly. The head snipped effortlessly with my trusty Xicar and a pre-light draw revealed a nice, sweet flavor.
Light-up produced copious amounts of smoke via an effortless draw. A medium gray ash began developing that held on for a solid 2" at a clip. In fact, I only ashed this cigar twice before nubbing it, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
1/3 - Very nice mellow, nutty taste. Vanilla bean, & honey dominate. Not a hint of spice unless nosed, and then only nominal. But a tremendous amount of spice was not needed. This cigar was delivering balanced, smooth flavors. The aging seemed to really be paying off.
2/3 - The tastes began intensifying and morphing which kept me quite attuned to this cigar. Joining the fray was a nice cocoa taste along with a strong nutmeg flavor.
3/3 - Spice now beginning to build up a bit. Not overpowering mind you, but definitely there, and quite nice. Cocoa flavor was still very prominant, and some nice espresso notes developed, adding to a wonderful finish.
Overall - This was one hell of a cigar. Construction was spot-on resulting in flawless burn and draw. Taste was superb, complex, smooth, and balanced. Flavor profile was indeed very much to my liking. I would smoke these all day long for the rest of my life and feel like I was missing out on nothing!
Final score, a perfect 10!

Troya Clasico LIV
Aesthetics: Nice looking 6" by 50-52 ring cigar. Nice wrapper that had several shades of brown in it, almost stripes. Nice oily smooth feel with several small bumbs seen on it so that it looked like sandpaper, but smooth. 8.5
Construction: Looked to be a bit underfilled, I noted 3 small wind tunnels in the foot. It seemed as it some one had poked a draw poker particially into the cigar. 6
Cut and pre-light draw: cut was smooth and easy. draw was a bit to loose with a good tabacco taste. 7
First few puffs: First taste was great, spicey full bodied tabacco and liquarish. 4.5
taste: Lots of smoke was rolling out of this the spicey peppery taste was dominate with bits of cashew and liquarish mixed in. About 1.25 to 1.5" into this the smoke statred to disapear. The friggin thing was tunneling on me. I finally got it back to smoking again, but the taste had went south. Flavor could only be described as a metalic bile flavor. I carried on through this hoping it was just from the touchup lighting and would soon go away. It did not. I don't know if my taste buds were just fried at this point or this one was just a lost casue. I pitched this one with about 1/2 of the cigar to go. 8,1,1,0
Final reaction:unable to finish. 0
burn:tunneling. 1.5
Strength:Nice full body that mellowed to medium-full in the first bit. So I will be kind and say. 6
That should = 8.5+6+7+4.5+8+1+1+0+0+1.5+6=42.5 I will give these another try as I beleive the tunneling was the casue of the bad flavors. First impreshion was good, from their not so good. Hopefully the other sizes I have will be better.

Petit Perfecto custom rolled for Columbia Resturant
Aesthetics: Nice looking little perfecto about 4.2 inches long. Wrapper was very oily and a dark brown with some very dark spots. 8.5
Construction: Construction was good, but was underfilled. 6
Cut and pre-light draw: cut was a bit rough, this was a bit to moist. draw was loose with a good tabacco taste. 5.5
First few puffs: First taste was tabacco and a light peper spice (mild jalapeno). 4.5
taste: Tons of SMOKE rolled from this little bugger. Taste never really changed, just toasted tobacco, mild pepper spice, and a bit of a sweet floral flavor I could not quite place. 7,7,7,7
Final reaction:aftertaste was nice and lasted for a while. 4
burn: razor sharp burn, just was so loose had to smoke slowly. 8.5
Strength:Nice mild to mild-medium strenght. Good morning cigar. 6.7
That should be 8.5+6+4.5+28+4+8.5+6.7=66.2 not great, not bad just a good underfilled cigar.
