I'd hate to be standing on the coast though it would be spectacular fireworks..

There was a great scene in the Clancy book [b]Red Storm Rising[/b] when Soviet artillery on the coast takes a shot at the NJ I think.  A few seconds later the NJ erupts in flame and a young officer on shore cheers...  He was mistaken. 

I rode subs in the Navy, there just aren't many cool submarine pictures.  Yea, the bow popping out of the water when an LA class does an emergency blow looks kind of cool, but not nearly as cool as a 9x16 inch broad side.  Though if you were out fishing and a Harpoon or a Tomahawk popped up out of the water about 50 yards away it would probably be the high point in your week.  That's a pretty big flying fish..
