Yeah, I knew I wouldn't be making many friends here being honest with so little skin on the forum but box codes don't lie, they have been honest to me for 10 years.
I think he trusts his supplier pretty heavily which could actually be the culprit.

He did not disclose he just made it very clear he trusts them. I never had a problem with Habanos SKUs they have always been faithful. Only encountered this issue when buying here in the states.

Post pictures. Only way to confirm you're correct is for other sets of eyes to look. Otherwise you have to be cautious of these claims.

Re: Bad Traders
I get maybe one or two faults per box but honestly, I've been buying habanos for a while and this is pretty out of the ordinary.

The "smoking is bad" stamp had a bunch of bumps on it. When I pulled the sticker is came off very easily and broken pieces from a previous box were found underneath the sticker. Note the difference in the color of the wood and direction of the grain vs the color of the wood on the box.

The center of the hologram is busted up as if heat had been applied to the cuba stamp

I have included photos of three benelux bands that are completely off center. One off center might be normal per once every several boxes but three in the same box is very questionable.

Note the raised lip on the cuba stamp. In addition to the busted hologram this gives additional creedence to the claim that the cuba sticker was pulled from another box. Those stamps always lay flat even when missapplied from the factory. Again you can see that the habanos hologram has been damaged.

I have included the serial number to show that the factory and year are off.
I really hate to call someone out on this but the fact that several major things were wrong with this box do not add up.

Re: Bad Traders
The serial number corresponds with a 2019 box date. I even have some JUL 19 boxes that start with 000044.
The other issues all seem a bit subjective to me. Not out of the line of possibility I suppose, but also not outside of the norm of Cuban and regional QC.
Just my 2 cents.

What? Habanos says the box is from '18. Even still the cuba stamp has been tampered with. It's clear it was melted off.
