In general I agree with you on comments, and long ago I looked to see if there was a way to make the TSBC a no responses room, I can't. nobody designs BB software that way.  There are however a number of posters that lock their posts to keep comments out, that's actually smart, but there are an equal number of posters who PM me, or email me because they can't find the "New Topic" button.

The goal here is to make the place functional so that people who want to sell things can offer them and people can look and see what they might want to buy. Every time there is a price police comment it turns into a flame war, that is  counter to the goal of the site.  There is also a note in the rules that states:  ...this portion of the site is not a discussion forum...  The point being that positive comments do no harm to the seller, nor are they particularly disruptive to the flow of the board, negative comments do and are.  It is a model that works and it is not changing.

While I understand the site rules, I will say that some positive comments can do harm to buyers. Noobs who have no idea of market prices may be influenced by all of the joe blows sucking up to sellers. Some of the A$$ Ki$$ing that goes on can be sickening.

Why do you care?  Seriously, do you know these people?  Let them figure out, there is also Rule 8 in there too.  If they are to single minded to look around and figure out what things should sell for is it your problem?

This is an internet BB, not real life, don't take it that seriously, I don't.  You think I could have survived and hung around on cigar BBs for over 12 yrs if I did?

Oh yea, and in here you can write out ass kissing, and if you want to see real fawning and ass kissing you should see what happens when someone like Carlito Fuente or Pete Johnson is in the room.

We can all rest easily at night to know there will be someone there to price police and keep everyone abreast of high prices.  Sorry, but you really don't know what someone paid for said cigars.  Everyone here is an adult, so I think it's their own fault if they don't do their homework or determine for themselves what they're worth.

You would mock someone who might be looking out for your best interests?  I don't get that.  If you could lend a hand to someone, would you?  For those that keep close tabs on pricing and will speak up when something is not kosher, I look at that as lending a hand.  Be it to a stranger or to a close buddy.  I can't see how that could possibly be bad.

So you would like a crossing gaurd to help you across the street, or someone to tell you 20 bucks is a bit much for a pack of Kool Aid?

No, I don't need a crossing guard, literally or metaphorically.  I've got a decent grip on ballpark pricing.  But if someone newer to cigars is saved some grief because someone started a thread in the BZ about someone charging 2x or 3x, I don't see how that could be construed as a bad thing.
