My EL Siglo III, June 2022 are nothing special. Loose fill and meh flavor/taste. I'd have a hard time buying more.

Maybe order a sampler of current stuff, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Just like with any cigar there can be so so batches, but it’s pretty damn rare in my experience. Ive smoked enough to say that with confidence, and I’m a picky mofo.
What's your favorite Johnny O?

So far for me it’s siglo III, TT50 and 1966. I even dropped a TT50 once and still smoked it with busted wrapper that’s how good it was. Smelt insane

Pretty damn accurate. Smoking these fresh is the wild Wild West after that time period, for the next couple years. Some spot on, some the opposite. For instance, in my last comment i mentioned a BHK from John that was cigar of the year for me last year. But I had a few in the in between period where I actually questioned it. Then a year later boom it’s incredible. Best to smoke fresh, and then lay down for a couple years.

Great advice right there. I have been buying more regularly from John the last few years. Don’t worry about the “sick” period as his sticks are always VERY freshly rolled. Not like the old time
Sick period with ammonia being discharged - but these sticks like any other benefit from time down.
Asking which of his sticks is my favorite is like asking which is my favorite child. They all have wonderful qualities

I’m just waiting to pull the trigger on his next Ambar drop!

Re: What's your favorite Johnny O?
I have a question, ladies and gents….
While smoking John’s cigars from all three types of offerings… EL, WF, and LC…. I find they are all pretty damn good. In fact, I’ve pretty much gone to exclusively smoking those and letting all of my banded stuff just age. I’m enjoying his cigars more than anything else, quite frankly.
When I have one, it seems as though I’m smoking every “brand” all at once. Nuances of flavors across the board. The ELs, to me, have that distinct Cohiba profile, but just a little more pronounced.
So to the question….
Of all of his cigars…. Are there specific ones that you would liken to the HSA catalog?
Montecristo = ?, RyJ= ?, etc?
I’ve smoked maybe a 1/3 of the various sizes and lines from him and plan to try all the rest.
I certainly don’t mean to pigeon hole John’s cigars. They are superb standouts on their own… just curious if you feel any particular cigars mirror familiar profiles?
Thanks for your input!

I'd say that EL definitely screams Cohiba to me. Some vital more than others. I pick up a lot of PL from the LC cigars I've tried. I get Portages from the 1966. Reminds me of Party limitadas.
The more I smoke his stuff, the less I smoke my branded cigars. Going to just sell those on BR and replace with JO I think. At least some of it.

This is where I am at. I'm moving off 90% of my regular production and replacing them with JOs.
