He was probably under a confi agreement while they worked a deal out, and maybe Swisher was not happy that rumors were floating around...

So he or one of his people ran their mouth and it was a blogger's fault how?????

My thoughts exactly. Pretty sure JD or someone in his entourage spilled the beans.

Does Max have a blog? I'd be interested in reading it. Seems like he's in the know.

I recently began writing, mostly reviews, for The Cigar Nut. They do news, reviews, etc... You can check them out at www.thecigarnut.com if you're interested, I can send you some links of reviews I've done personally.

Have you smoked a 45th or 80th? How does the 50th compare? The RG kept me away until this point.

Yes, I've smoked quite a few of both. Of all the Family Reserves, I would say the 50th is most similar to the 45th in terms of flavor, depth and complexity. As far as the 80th goes, it's a little different as the Family Reserves are all based on the 1964 blend wherein the 80th is not a family reserve and it is based on the 1926 blend.
I have my notes on all three if you'd like for me to give you a more in depth comparison in case I didn't fully answer your question.

Of course! This is just something I recently started doing "officially," as a hobby, so it's cool to see people actually reading them and enjoying them. Prior to this, I just kept a small moleskin journal that I would take notes in for myself.
