Man Bro, I hope your life improves when we get a new President. Your all consuming hatred of this man isn't good for your health.

Actually I am glad he does. It would be boring as hell if we all agreed.

Joel, don't make the mistake of ass-u-me-ing that the conservatives' dislike of Clinton is all about an intern hummer. :horse:

Rooster, that is exactly the point. The conservatives fail everytime to come up with anything else besides the BJ when comparing Clinton and Bush. As much as they supposedly hate Clinton, the only response to the plethora of Bush's fuck pas is the BJ. The only conclusion is that on substanitive issues and policies, Clinton favorably compares to Bush. And on ethical issues, fabricating stories about why we went to Iraq where over 3000 soldiers and tens of thousands of civilians have been killed, the preparedness for that war in terms of proper armament, and lying about the goal of what we are trying to achieve there - all are favored over lying about a BJ. I get it.

I hear ya, Joel. BUT!!!! It is not for lack of other material. Witness: China, N. Korea, OBL, trimming our military to the bone, defanging the CIA, leaving office in a recession. But you feel free to look back fondly, just don't ask us to buy that it ain't all on account of those rose colored glasses you're wearing while doing so.

Joel, what you are forgetting in this whole issue is that every 10-15 years there has to be a war. We have to lower our inventories of missles, munitions and all the other equipment to wage war so that the companies like Raytheon, Lockheed and all the other major companies that support the military industrial complex can build new products to keep that sector of the economy growing. There are hundreds of thousands of people whose jobs are dependent on our ability to start a war when the inventories get too big.
As always it is all about the money and that fact will never change. Political views mean dick, if the Democrats were in power at the right time, they would be the ones starting the wars. Let's not forget Vietnam.

So today, the alleged attack on Fort Dix was thwarted. "Alleged" because the administration has cried wolf so many times that it is hard to know when they are lying and when they are not. But, let's assume that they are telling the truth - that an attack was in fact planned and susequently stopped. From what I've read about the way that the plot was discovered, it was thru good old intelligence work. You know, the pussy stuff that the Bush crew says is for whiny liberals. The FBI got a tip and worked thru the various leads that resulted in the bust. None of the "effective" tactics that the Bush crowd wants to use were instrumental - you know; torture, illegal wiretaps, stomping on people's rights by invoking Patriot Act provisions.

And so much, again, for the bullshit political slogan about fighting them over there so we dont have to fight them over here. We are fighting them in both places.

yeah, but over there we don't have to give them a trial, we just shoot'em.
Which is admittedly less drmaitc than a long drawn out trial, but sometimes as you mentioned the old fashioned way isn't so bad either.
