Your problem (Toronto's) is the VAT and other taxes - like the UK.
Health laws what they are and such, as well, contribute to those fees.
---
I would also worry about googling those prices...they are all in different locations and have different costs. Maybe take an average, but if you base it off MSRP then you can see where you get value! Oh... there are shops that sell at msrp.

Thanks for taking the time to post. I see that most online retailers write the msrp, cross it out and post their price. Shopping around is the advantage of the internet, right?

Remember...'community'...that's why a stink gets raised about pricing...but that's really moot here.
The manufacturers get some money...the state/fed gets money...and the retailer gets money.
Why would I want to pay more?
slight tangent:
When you shop for a car or cloths or anything...why would you pay more than list price. In most cases you want to pay less - with coupons/sales/incentives.
The whole 'free market' discussion is fine but pointless when you have a list price and a formula for age. (Rarity throws in a whole other value.)
People here don't want to wait to find the product at msrp...they want it now. True with anything really.

Just what the hell are you thinking anyway? ;)

CB - shopping around is an advantage...it's also limited by the search engine.
All of them(google/yahoo/bing/webcrawler(is that still around)) use different search models.
Also, some websites are listed higher than others on relevance based on content. There's a whole industry and science behind web search formulation. There's also the issue about 'what' you put in for the search - content is everything!
Working off the manufacturers srp can't be all that bad!
Did these go full production...or just a few times a year as usual?

I think the search is a good starting point of reference. Then at least you can go from there. Another reference for me is past selling prices on forums if I can find them. Then of course, you can just ask Paulie :rotf:

I sometimes find that it can be one of the downfalls as well. I find that by sticking with one or 2 retailers that don't have a large online presence but have great B&M's you can gain access to cigars you may never find easily on the internet. Famous may show Hemmingway Maduro's with a listed price but you will almost never find them in stock there as no one really gets enough for the demand. They will usually thow them onto thier auction site as both a fair way to spread them around and for them to possibly make more money. By finding a store that always charges msrp and gets a great selection you may have to pay a little more sometimes but your selection increases dramatically

Bill used to be very active here, and I think he came from CF. He may still be active over there, but I have not seen him much here in the last year and a half... I hope he is ok. He is a good guy and a good BOTL.
