What guarantees do you have when you buy customs, ie "Reynaldo," "Hamlet," "Robaina," or "Hector" from a 3rd party? Did you see them roll the cigars for you personally? No, so how do you know? How are JO's (and Dallas, Rogers, etc) any different? You are buying a story. Regarding these types of sales, you will sleep a lot better at night if you qualify these cigars by: Do you like the cigars? Is the price acceptable? Do you feel that you are getting a "good deal?"

If the answers are all yes, then that is the end of the story.

But make that 95% only as I can't believe sunnyboy Marc hasn't heard yet about Hamlet no longer rolling in Havana.
Welcome to OLH. I put those names specifically since their respective provenance & procurement were discussed ad nauseam over the years, to give context to the post. But, internet.

I love OLH and Battlezone cause I can swear without getting censored or banned. Every one calm the fuck down as it's Monday!  :bangin:

My first contribution to BZ and this thread, if you have ever been to Cuba and know how things roll (pun intended) then you know that really anything is possible.
There are also many people who are not constantly on forums or even social media who have much deeper connections and experience than we think we may know.
We are quite fortunate for forums where we can learn about stuff however it's not to say anyone is solely authority and IMO unless you have been there yourself you won't know for sure.
I like Bundwallahs post a lot.
Like others have said there are also many tales, dungeons and dragons.

Buy what you want, smoke, taste and make judgment for yourself, side by side comparisons if need be. If you enjoy the cigar then that's the whole point.

**Haiku - there are sheep that follow the herd, there are many keyboard warriors and proclaimed experts, you are the master so just drink that tea....

Disclosure - I have bought from both Rob and a few "EL" from JO. I have visited Cuba a couple of times. I am fortunate to have been to EL.
I smoke several times a week with an open mind. Sometimes I see colors when I smoke really majestical cigars **credit to a BOTL for this comment

Looks like el pres is having his tyrannical period again, I just saw over a page of comments get deleted. So sad U.S. politics upset him so much. Looks like a few folks got the boot as well. I find it so hysterical that the guy let's the liberal minded folks say whatever they want, and the conservative minded guys get shut up right quick and yet the guy claims to be non-biased. He's so full of shit. I watch that from the sidelines, because I know if I posted there I would get banned within 5 minutes. I'm sure there will be plenty of el pres sympathizers. Don't care. The guy doesn't practice what he preaches.

I moved to OLH from the Cigar Aficionado forums about a year before those all went to hell, and boy, I'm glad I did. Although I do miss DocBarry's daily start to the cigar of the day thread, I'm sure some of you remember him. I need to do more posting and less lurking. I'm thankful to Wade for giving us this place to duke it out if necessary, lol!
