After about a year,  I believe J'S come into their own.  Smooth buttery, nutty flavor.  Patience is a virtue with Johnny-O's.

Gents probably looking to get my hands on some. What would you guys say the average "sick period" is that you need to let them rest after you receive them before lighting then up?

From what I have read, you can smoke them fresh for about a week or two.  After that, I'd say wait at least 8 months before trying one again after receiving a fresh batch. Those with a lot of JO experience say a year or more....

I've let the JohnnyO's rest a year for all that I've had, except for the first one. They all have smoked very well, save for the first one which was so-so at best. A year really makes these babies shine.

KingCohiba heard my plea a few months back and sent me a killer sampler that had been resting for a couple of years. Almost through them now, they are smoking great!

Split up a bundle of Lanceros w/ a couple other brothers a few weeks ago.  I've smoked 3 of them since then, gifted one and I'm gonna "try" to let the other one rest for awhile.  Have to say it's gonna be hard not to put flame to it, cuz they are soooo good!

Would love to try some other sizes in the future, too!  :)
