No problem at all and thank you for taking the time to respond. Looking forward to more purchases and trades.

CB.

Yeesh fellas this was supposed to be funny. But this has escalated to differences in perspecticves, so I will opine as well.

CB you are always very nice and being way too decent for him. If geicko is embarrassed by this, that's his own admission of guilt. There's no right or wrong price at OLH - this a market where you trade goods. Let's not even consider that gecko's first post wasn't to introduce himself, it was to sell a box of cigars for $1000.

So presumeably this nice honest hardworking guitar restorer who doesn't know anything about selling on forums, decided to put up some cigars for sale on one of the more advanced north america cigar forum. Ok, man made a play. Then he got caught. And in life there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Just brush yourself off and try again. If he really didnt know it was bad, then he would have just relisted the price! Why grovel and leave? I have to assume it's because he got caught in a lie by the very informed commentariot, and was embarrassed.

For what it's worth, i wrote him a pm the minute his post came up. Almost verbatim but paraphrased,
"price in lcdh cuba around 350 each, bundles from factory are cheaper. Price at tier 1 is $450. i think your receipt is for both not each (where is the other receipt for box), either way looks like you got hosed. Guys on this forum know better, just fyi if you want the sale to succeed."
Then he writes his second post in his thread," dont be afraid to make me an offer. Forum rules state i must list a price, so i did." Haha ok then, keep doing you. He didnt attempt to alter his post after my advice, yours, and apparently others (from what you say cb). I must surmise that he was standing firm behind that number. Btw to any who have somehoe found his email (he kept his hidden), could i get it so i can stay away.

And what does he mean by i dont know how to sell on a forum? Like physically or conceptually? Does he rip off his neighbors and friends when not on a forum and selling in person? Like he'll ply his cutomers with alcohol to loosen them to bid, but he cant send shots over the internet so he's s.o.l? CB the guy makes no sense.

As the commentatriot has ruled, his story on duties to the genios do not add up. Look, everyone tries to make a play. His just didnt pan out the way he wanted. Doesnt mean he should pack up and leave. Easily could have lowered the price and sold it. Not every person gets a trophy in life.

Or maybe he want to guitars and drums forum and is making a killing from his peers.

I have nothing against the guy, and I haven't crucified him.  Obviously, he made a mistake, thinking he was going to make a pile of money (2x+) in the forums selling these cigars to people who supposedly can't get cubans.  Well, most people here have several CC sources.  He can easily rectify this situation by posting these for a more reasonable price (like $450).  He won't make the coin he intended to, but lesson learned and move on...at least he won't lose money, and that's a better solution than having the cigars sitting around drying out, due to not being stored properly, then desperately trying to sell them later once they are dried out.

[/quote]

Now, come on, he just made a little mistake trying to gouge everyone on OLH for 100% profit. Lisa has spoken for him, isn't that enough to cover his idiocy (and hers?)

Carry on....

If you really wanted to help him CB, you should have remained silent.  This thread would have probably died out a lot sooner.  You added fuel to the fire in your attempt to regulate what happens in the BZ.

Not saying you didn't have good intentions, but what did you think your comments were going to illicit.  Maybe a uniform response like "oh,....okay let's just give this guy a break".  You know how it works here..
