I had one tonight. I got these late wed, had work and school thurs. Last night I had a fresh Siglo IV, aug14, ule code. It was excellent. The cigar in question I had tonight, I made it about halfway through. The finish was terrible. At times I felt like I tastes some habanos like quality on the retro, but the draw flavor was not good. Halfway through I may have detected some habanos flavors, but I could not make it through the rest. I cut the last half open, long filler, no short filler in sight, double binder.
If this was a habanos, I've had better piedra. Palate was clean off a ribeye, couple glasses of cab, and key lime pie. I'll post pics in a bit.

In comparison to a very young siglo IV that tastes like all things Cohiba (vanilla, cream, honey, musk, etc), no comparison. I am interested to hear Freds thoughts as well.

How on earth are you comparing Siglo with Linea Classica? That's like comparing Partagas to Quai d'Orsay.

Im not, that's the freshest Cohiba I had. In terms of Cohiba flavors, both being supposed fresh cigars, habanos flavors, tasting anything like a Cuban cigar, no comparison. It wrecked my palate. I'm not a big robo size fan really, but I've had plenty of coro over the years. I prefer IV, VI, behike from Cohiba. If I compared it to the hundreds of habanos I've had over the last few years, this was not similar. It was not muted, no ammonia like a freshie, just terrible finish. I'm interested to hear what Fred says. This was not a good cigar at all, and it was not easy to make it to the mid point.
Comparisons aside, this cigar was disgusting.

Do you think your determination about the cigar not being real based on the bands and lack of a triple cap had any influence on your smoking opinions of these ?

[/quote]bands and cap no, maybe the seller denying my offer to send it to you or Ernie with fuck off might have. I tried my best to be objective. It was not east to smoke half of this.
But really, I've never had a habanos wreck my palate like that. It was not muted or ammonia tasting like a bad fresh box. If it was a box I bought from a legit vendor, I wouldn't resell it and would ask for my money back.
