Overnight we got freezing rain that has now turned to sleet. All local schools and colleges cancelled school last night due to the forecast. The sleet will be turning to snow and they are saying we will get 6-11" of snow. Not a big deal for an old retired guy.
My biggest problem today is deciding if I want to make chili, chicken and noodles, beef stew, roast and veggies or Mexican Chicken Soup.

I saw that your area was going to get hit with some nasty stuff. Stay safe and go with the beef stew or roast and veggies.

Thanks Jim. So far it doesn't look too bad and they are saying we kinda dodged the bullet with the freezing rain/ice. It quickly switched to sleet. Roast it is!

I vote for beef stew, one of my faves on a cold winter night.
Made it last night over a bed of egg noodles.

I agree Ridge, beef stew is a favorite. Sadly my wife is not much of a fan. She is extremely picky about food and is not a beef eater. I still make it 3-4 times per winter. I've never had it over egg noodles, but it's gotta be good! I will try and remember to give it a try.

Yes. Why is that? I can't remember the last time I even drank milk! I'm also not a huge fan of bread. But those two items always get bought up.
When I was coming back from work today (I work at a school and we are closed tomorrow due to the weather) I stopped and bought some scotch and bourbon! Who needs bread and milk when you have scotch and bourbon?

Everyone panics when there is a threat of snow or ice in Arkansas and stockpiles bread and milk. If I were to go to the store today the shelves would be barren. I see you have the essentials taken care of King!

Hello fellow Arkie. Everyone scrambles for milk, bread, and eggs. I guess snow means french toast for all.

A stew stroganoff. I like that idea a lot.

Hello ljutic, I remember your handle from CF. Good to see you're still around. The ice has finally melted here and the high temps are in the 60's this week.

Here in Pasadena CA we are struggling to survive Sunny weather in the low 80's through the weekend. They say Sunday will be the highest temperature ever for a Super Bowl!
