Inspecting for drugs. This started happening a lot more two years ago in Miami. It seems like the U.S. started doing it after the Dominican Republic announced a couple of instances of finding drugs being smuggled out of the country within cigars.

Plausible. Reckon I'm pretty safe seeing as most of my purchases are for sub 44 RG.

No, c'mon. This is not a drug inspection method. They are slicing up all 25 cigars in the box. In a way that renders them worthless/unusable. This is a customs worker who just doesn't want to fill out the paperwork for a confiscation.
Haven't had this happen to me since 2004. To a box of Ramon Allones 898. Oh, now I've made myself sad.

Great Vendor! They reshipped right away and the replacement boxes were received within 7 days!
