why anyone would pay 600-900/box for EL rolled Cohiba Sigs/BHK/Talisman when you can just buy them from JO for a fraction of the price is beyond me.  Are the bands worth that much?

Habanos sa is buying direct from Johnny right now.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but there is a little revisionist history going on in your post. I remember that thread and at one point Rob had essentially said that claiming anything coming from EL in large quantities was nonsense. After the thread was getting heated lots of posts were deleted and he said that off board issues had no place on his forum. Rob said that he had never had the cigars in question which is a far stretch from saying that are “as advertised.” If something else has been said by Rob about the cigars in question since, I would be very interested in seeing a screenshot or a link to the post.

Wrong thread (2018), that was last years thread. If you read the thread completely you will notice Rob is speaking in general. Read his last post that supports me 100%. The thread I am referring to was a few years ago. Ya'll have so much time on your hands look it up. Go and look up Vinnies rant at Cigarpass 5-7 years ago where Rod told him to go to his sandbox and play with kids his age. You don't like my cigars? Move on. You don't like how I label them, move on. You don't like where they come from, move on. Class dismissed, John

No, but a guarantee that the cigars are actually what is advertised, is (at least to some).

And yes, Rob wasn't a fan of anyone claiming "factory seconds" or whatever.

Vinnie tried this at Cigarpass about 5-7 years ago. Rod the administrator told him to be quiet and and stated that the cigars are as advertised. A few years ago he tried it again at FOH. Rob "El Presidente" told him to STFU as well and said the cigars are as advertised. Rob also said that you are interfering with peoples livelyhoods on both sides and that you needed to think this a little more intelligently. I guess you never got those messages. Now he is trying it again at Cigar Family and more recently by thread jacking Sandmans review. I have been trading at CF 20 years. Look at my references there if you are concerned about my integrity. I have traded cigars here at OLH possibly as far back as 20 years when it was Danny M's site. I have never sold Vinnie a EL cigar. He has no information, no proof, no magic bullet, no grassy knoll, no nothing. Otherwise he would come forward with it. The funny thing is my sales go through the roof every time Vinnie talks. You need to get a life brah. Spend some time with your wife, go hug your kids, tell your mom you love her. Class dismissed, John

This is from Johnny last week or so.....

Hutch, Petey….the Behiques of years past were not meant to match the Behikes profile, just the size. What I have currently is out of EL, the profiles are spot on. Many have attested to this at OLH. Come on over and visit. You might like what you see.

If you cannot understand what he is saying in the first sentence than you deserve what you get.

Perhaps he would be happy to know we are not talking about factory seconds.

I believe that he was referring to the custom rolls he once sold in the BHK sizes, wasn’t he? If so, almost all the “famous rollers” can and do roll those sizes. But they will certainly have their own profile. Some are quite good, depending on the leaf the roller  has available.

Honestly, I think that the factory Behikes were a bit disappointing after the magical 2010s, with maybe the 2011s and 2012s being decent. They seemed to fall off a cliff after that, imho. I’m not sure of the allure of BHKs in recent production. Certainly not worth the coin, especially at the silly prices they are selling for now.

I’ve read all of the posts, and only the first is posting a first hand experience with a Johnny-O cigar.
