Re: Flash Fuente Sale
But it comes with the dressing and croutons so you are way ahead of the game and you could always flip the dressing for a profit.

If you don't know Bruce, he's world class. What he(and a couple) does for others is in the top .5% of generosity that BOTL can show each other. It's the extreme exception to the rule. Nobody here needs to say that or defend that fact. I will say kudos to someone who calls it like he sees it, even if you don't agree or it's unpopular.
IMO this thread shines on several levels.

I don't know you, and you don't know me. So I'll refrain from calling you a jackass.
Because what you described is exactly what I do. For the past 7 years, I drive 2.5 hours each way, and spend in excess of $12k buying Fuente cigars. The vast majority of those cigars are NOT for me. I buy cigars for friends of mine, who for various reasons (distance, work schedule, etc) can't make the event. I mule for them, pack all the cigars and ship the cigars to them. And you know what I charge them ?? My cost. I don't make 1 cent off of it.
I arrived at Holt's one hour after they opened. They were already sold out of Petite Lanceros and Pussy Cats. Guys like sTe cleaned them out for profit, whereas I and all those who arrived after me throughout the day, were denied the opportunity to buy cigars that we would SMOKE, not flip for profit.
So since it's obvious you don't know what you're talking about, maybe it's you who should stfu.

Ditto. Bruce is a great guy... I met him a couple years back at Fuente mania and I know he helps tons of people when he makes his yearly pilgrimage to Holts in Philly. I never asked him for anything when I couldn't go, but I know that if there was something there that he could help me with, he would gladly do that... I don't smoke many Fuentes anymore but Bruce helps tons of guys who do smoke them.

Let's go back to the issue of croutons and dressings, because everything discussed in this thread is rather irrelevant.
Personally, I like to make my own croutons from thickly sliced Italian paisano bread...but I am particular you see. I demand that my bread from my local baker, where I pre-season when freshly cut the day of, air-dry for two days, then finally, toast under a salamander at 400F for 10 minutes. As for the dressing, the base must be of the highest quality extra virgin olive oil that you may find, with a quarter part of aged balsamic from the only place that you can find such a worthy balsamic, that is to be Modena of Italy. To emulsify, I add a little bit of honey, like so, with dash of freshly cracked black pepper from Tellicherry - a subsection of Malabar off the coast of India - and finally, finish it off with generous heaps from the undisputed king of cheeses...yes, that is correct, Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Acknowledging the good turn a brother does is hardly irrelevant.

Everyone seems to need validation in these days of the internet. So I'll give it to you. I award you, or whomever is being flamed here, 1 internetz. Or a crouton. You pick.
My crouton shines a robust golden brown with a light honey aroma. The spice on top is classically sweet, leaving nothing to the imagination. The crunchy interior is divinely satisfying, with a softly tart finish reminiscent of sourdough. An overall treat, start to finish.

If it’s a small profit, I’m fine with it. I’ll probably never make the trip there and therefore rely on sales like this for my potential purchases.

You're so pedestrian. All of that can be obtained at the local Stop and Shop. Come back with something more befitting a man of your stature... :gotcha:
