I don't even have to visit Yahoo I just go to the local shops and they sell Opus for $35.00-$50.00 per stick, and still the question remains who buys this stuff???  :-\

Funny thing is, most of my aged cigars were gifted from CF'rs.

Yes I agree with most all of what you guys are saying.  I love opus and I have paid some big bucks for them.  I know they are hard to come by and therefore when I see them in a store I get all gitty.  I have found a store that sells maybe $3-$4 over msrp which isn't bad in Illinois.  There Anejos are maybe $2 over the msrp which I find myself stocking up on those more

I am glad to hear what you guys think on this matter...the reason for posting this topic was because I had tried to work out a trade with someone that wanted some Opus X that I had for some ISOM's "aged" that he had. Well he said that he had paid $15 each for some 11 year old PC's and basicly offered me $45 worth of ISOM's for my $100 MSRP Opus X.

I tried to explain that I would offer %5 per year over what I could buy them for now on the aged sticks but that what he was asking was out of line.

That is the reason for the question on how much does age add to the value....

You don't want to trade with that guy anyway. I hope you told him to -------> :finger:

I don't think there is a standard guideline so to speak. I think it's very cigar-specific. I am sure some would bring more premium than others, for example, RASS. I do look at the "aged" selections that some of the vendors offer and see prices all over the board.

So what do you think fair value of these aged would be?

SCDLH El Principe (2000)
Punch Petite Punch (1996)
H. Upman Petite Upman (1996)
RYJ Cedros Deluxe #3 (1996)

Is $15 per stick over priced?

eyetek, whenever you have specific questions like this, you can always ss an oldtimer at CF, the ones who don't know the specific answer to your questions can often help you find someone who does. And that goes for even when the seller is from another BB.

NONE of us want to see anyone get screwed newb nor oldtimer.
