I've never dealt with either party, but must say the seller (Leo) comes off as a POS. I've read through the other thread and the seller always seems to be sidestepping or making excuses. Provenance is questionable as it changed when the story progressed, knowingly sold cigars in sub-par condition without making any mention, refusing to refund when buyer was unsatisfied (even when third party offered to act as escrow), and just being a douche about the whole situation like his shit is holier than thou and 'reputation' would carry him through this ordeal.
The fact that people did the right thing to help him out when he was wronged, and he still chooses not do the same when he is the one doing the wrongdoing speaks volumes about his character. If you choose to spend an entire paycheck on a box of cigars that's your prerogative, but if you're going to be buying high end sticks and flipping them you should definitely have the money to refund should the buyer be unsatisfied. For so many reasons, if this dickhead isn't scumbag worthy then I don't know who is.
As for the buyer, he seems like a very laid back person who is turning the other cheek. Kenshiro you're a saint as far as I'm concerned, but nobody deserves to get screwed and this should serve as a warning to others in the future. Unfortunately there seems little chance that a refund will be issued, but IF it does, it should be noted that it was done because the seller was shamed into doing so not because he chose to do the right thing. Scumbag.

Re:
Sadly it's a lesson for anyone new about buying cigars on here. Personally I don't believe they were fake but the sloppy glue job was not mentioned in the sale process. Regardless of whether or not Leo knew about the glue job when the cigars arrived a refund should have happened. Usually I would be on the side that Ken should have sent them back before the refund. Sadly this interaction shows why that can sometimes fail as Leo's actions throughout the process make me think when the the cigars were shipped back he would have claimed the buyer used the real bands to make fakes. As soon as an independent party offered to be the middle man this should have been taken care of. Unfortunately Leo is unwilling to do this even with well respected people who have helped him in the past offering to be the middle man. This will follow Leo for a very long time and I hope new members of the forum pay attention to this so they know nothing is guaranteed when buying from individuals

Screw this guy... I say put him on the list, and lets all bomb Ken.
If Leo cannot trust an FOG to handle the exchange, then no one can trust him period, regardless of the bullshit he's pulled here.

Out of no where? I registered recently, have been reading threads and thought I would voice my opinion on this. Is it forbidden?

Dan my son, those are premium diplomatic bananas!
LA (I already know a Leo, sorry) - Why aren't you using the fence option here to broker the refund? If I were you I would try to set this right immediately but that is your call - committee will meet on list addition today either way.
