I put a higher price on the box but as mentioned before I'm not twisting anyone's arm to make the purchase and as someone else stated its a free market society so if someone is willing to pay my price then good for them and good for me, we both win.

What gets me is people have the time to bitch about prices and check other sites to see what it's selling for by the same seller......really. There must be something else to do. Enjoy a nice smoke, watch tv, play sports or play with yourself, something.....

Don't hate if its too high in cost move on to the next set. There are a lot of marks ups on this site and I actually paid a high premium for something I want so its a free market. Move on if you don't like the deal or no deal.

Everyone who is here has access to a viable search engine and can yahoo, google, bing, or whatever the hell they want to use and find out, generally, what cigars sold for originally. I agree that if anyone doesn't think manufacturers see that their product sells on the secondary market for 30 to 50% more than MSRP, they're living in some alternate universe. Drew estates just implemented a 10%+ price increase on their Liga Privadas. They're not going to keep leaving money on the table. They're going to get theirs. Buyer sets the price, not the seller. If a seller asks it and gets it, hooray! But, if someone is [glow=red,2,300]stupid[/glow] enough to buy LP FFP's at 200+ a box and T52 FP's at 250 a box, so be it. I won't. I never will. Not worth it and there's dozens of cigars that are as good or better, including CC's, that are much less expensive. I certainly don't care if one calls someone out or not about it. Nothing wrong with warning the newbs. But it's not gouging (I hate the term, it doesn't apply).

[move]caveat emptor. Flippers can suck it :boty:[/move]

So, I am truly bitchin about the people who don't think other forum member have the right to call BS when they see it and inform the newbie that they are being gouged.

You really are to be applauded...doing this bitchin...I mean "service" for the newbs out there.  golf

If people can't do their own due diligence and shop around before coming here...it all boils down to "a fool and his money are soon parted".

Where did I say you were 'stupid'? I only called the people that overpaid for cigars stupid.
Gouging is taking financial advantage of a person due to necessity, since you need a definition for it. Cigars don't apply.

I believe your definition is right if you replace the word necessity with availability which  makes it possible to gouge anything.

I do believe the buyer sets the price but a few people gouging can alter prices for everyone down the road.  Yes I believe the knuckleheads paying these premiums are just as much to blame as the people asking them.

Cigars don't apply? To the legal definition of price gouging maybe not but its not being used in that context.

In general context I don't think anything would be exempt.

I'm approaching it from a context that no one needs cigars. But I will respect it from your approach that it's taking advantage of someone in the angle "if you want it, you're going to have to pay it." I think we can all agree it's a violation of the true spirit of what cigars are about and what this site is intended for.

This was entertaining. Its obvious now that the intentions werent to sell a box of cigars. But to make money. Once it was pointed out that the cigars were still available the sale item was removed. No price adjustment was made to entice someone to purchase. Im sure these will be relisted once they are sold out.

Sorry, just my .02 cents. I generally only lurk here but felt compelled to post.
