There is no gouging here on OLH, only over-charging or profiteering.

Re: opus sharks for 37$?
He ended up listing 8 for $200.
Thats $25 each
I went halves with a friend and grabbed them
I considered $25 a stick to be reasoble considering they had a couple of years on them and the cheapest I've ever seen them for is $40 a stick
Sure thats above rrp but I figured the only way I'd ever get some at rrp is if I married into the fuente family so I was prepared to pay that
They don't come around here all that often so if he was 'gouging' I guess I'm just an idiot with more more money than sense

Opus rarely goes for MSRP unless you're at the right place at the right time, which rarely happens in most cigar shops that I frequent. $25 each is really not bad for these. There is a lot worse over-charging than this particular example on OLH.

i asked if this was what they go for now. i never accused anyone of goughing.
i subscribe to the fair market principal. it will sell for what the market will bear.
goughing doesnt exist for non essential items like this
and the sources listed online that have these are well known for not selling close to msrp. but again, msrp is a suggestion, and if they can get 50 a stick for these more power to them, they are not worth it to me.
20-25 a stick seems fair to me 40-50 seems kinda high. but that is my opinion.

$40-$50 is high, your right. Being a noob, I bought most of the Opus sharks I sold from Cigar.com. I know, idiot overpaid. So,I was trying to get close to my money back. Unfortunately, I didn't workout that way. Oh well, live and learn. If I sell something it's usually what I paid for it or less. Oddly enough I haven't made a cent selling cigars. I lose money because of shipping. I'm ok with that, if I wasn't I wouldn't sell them. I'm far from a gouger or overcharger.

I ended up buying 5 at Casa Fuente for $35/each. So I'm assuming fair market value would be around there or slightly less, since Casa Fuente is usually expensive for some stuff and okay for others. (but mostly expensive for rarer items like Forbidden X, and etc.)

Casa is high end on everything because of the rent they pay.
I picked up 5 at $20 a stick in Holt's last Sept. Don't think they were selling at a loss.

Re: opus sharks for 37$?
using Casa Fuente to determine fair market value is like using the Taj Mahal to find a value on Danny's double wide......
