...How about the DE Egg? :bounce:
[/quote]

Oh my... who told you I bought one of those ??  That tops the list as the worst smoke I have ever had... it started to unravel and basically blew up and exploded within the first inch or 2.  I took the big egg part apart and made a smoldering camp fire out of it, and it kept the bugs away for most of the evening while the women complained about the awful smell.  Truly a crappy-assed cigar, and thankfully, the Acid and egg smoking days are long gone for me.

...and you're right... it looks like Siglo VI's were first released in 2002, so there won't be any real 2000's around.  :D

What if the cigar was not necessarily chosen by the kind or date, but add in the RE based on a place that is special to you? Like your honeymoon, a place you love or is very meaningful to you?

I just bought a box split of the newest Bolivar Britannias... but I LOVE anything from Spain. The taste of Spanish RE's are incredible but last year my trip to Barcelona was one of the most romantic trips of my life. It meant everything to me. Brought home lots of sticks.

Just a thought?

Some great ideas there Lisa... thanks.

I was looking for some of the RE Russian Bolivars (I was born here in the states, but my dad is of Russian descent), but they are really tough to find.  I had a lead on a box, but it didn't pan out.  So I gave up that hunt not too long ago.  I have never been overseas, so I can't draw from any memories of trips outside the US.

The Britannias sound nice, but I haven't seen them at any of my normal sources... did you pick those up while you were in Spain ?

The day they became available, a clever BOTL found a box and we split them. A bit less than a box of Behike 52's still a real treat for me. Will save them for real special occasions. Sorry but I cannot spare one or I would for your special day.

I am trying to only buy special ones and trade for every day smokes. A recent box brought back from Cuba of Punch Chrchills pretty much filled my smoking needs for a while. They are too much smoke for me as it turned out.

I am going back to Europe in a week. I hope to pick up some special stuff in Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris... we'll see.

Yeah I realized that after initially posting and it was too late to edit... its usually pretty tough to find something that doesn't even exist.

I understand what you are thinking Todd.  On my 50th I had someone hand deliver an OR Opus #2 maduro.  Only 1 box was rolled.  Then as I was about an inch into the cigar I got the phone call wishing Happy Birthday and asking what I thought of the cigar.  The call was from Carlito.  It was a very special evening with a rare cigar.

I know someone who could help you with a 2000 Opus.  ;)  I just smoked a 2001 Opus SB Tuesday night.

Brad--great story... the Fuente's are a real class act family, it was really cool to meet them in Philly last year.  You will have to see the picture I had made of the event, it turned out really nice.

Oh, and that last 2000 OpusX you gave me was outstanding... we probably missed some great smoking opportunities over the so-called winter.
