Going on the douchebag list? He apologized, and asked what he could do to fix it. I am in NO WAY trying to be a homer, so I do apologize if it comes across that way, but what more do you want at this point?

I agree that the packahing was sub-standard here (and this guy has been added to my own personal "do not buy from list"), but as long as the problem is fixed to the buyer's liking, this should be done...AND hopefully, the seller will be a little more careful and take additional care in packaging down the road. Lesson learned? Hopefully anyways...
I have seen the care involved with all packages, USPS, UPS or FEdex... it doesn't matter... they will throw your package several times before it gets to the destination. I try to always use their rule of thumb for packing, and that's to add 2 inches of bubble pak or peanuts on all sides of the internal contents. If I send anything other than a box, I use USPS packaging/boxes and wrap the sticks up with a couple rounds of bubble pack.
I have gotten damaged sticks myself on a few occasions...but never when the seller did a decent job of packing the cigars. The extra 2 minutes of time it takes is worth it, IMHO.

Wow John honestly you can go fuck yourself now.
People reading this thread it's nice to see you fire up the lynch mob so quickly. John's first PM to me was at 10:14 PM my time. Past my bedtime. The second today was at 4:18 PM. Some of us have to work. When I got done at around 5 PM and saw his message I IMMEDIATELY returned it and apologized. We have exchanged several messages and I was attempting to resolve this in an honorable manor then I see this shit. John, I especially like the part where you told me that an extra layer of cardboard would have prevented head and cold exposure. I really need to get some of that NASA moon rock cardboard. I guess I am a fucking moron but I am still not seeing things clear. We are not talking paper as you call it. Those tyvek mailers? They are water proof and a helluva a lot more trust worthy than a cardboard box. I have worn tyvek suits in to countless hazmat incidents, never a cardboard box. Further, the method of shipping with the cab wrapped and not placed inside another box is not new and I didn't invent it. A certain overseas vendor shipped cigars that way for years. I never saw a problem. For what it's worth, I sent cigars to seven other people last week. Three commented on how good the packaging was and four didn't have anything negative to say.
I may not know as many cool people as you, but I am no kid and I'm definitely not a chickenshit that would be so quick to start a thread in here and then when you talk to me via PM not even an oh by the way I started a thread in the BZ about this. Fuck off.

And what really fucking pisses me off is you sit there and exchange PMs with me like you will let me work this out with you not every saying you started this shit without even giving me a chance to reply.

Well said. From the get go I was apologetic and honestly stunned that I had disappointed someone. I absolutely intend to learn from this and reevaluate how I ship things. I can tell you that when I was wrapping all those my mind was on being meticulous in making sure they arrived intact. Other people had already commented on how well they were packaged, that I had gone tape happy, etc. I make it a point to ship everything I can in five finger bags and do everything I can to secure them. If I made a mistake, I am truly sorry. I'm not sorry at all for saying what a dick move it is to post this here without giving me a chance to respond first.

I just got a five pack bomb that was in a zip lock bag, no bubble wrap or anything and in a small flat rate box. Several of them are in rough shape. BTW....Not anyone from this board...not trying to start a fight here, just saying some people may need to rethink the way they package things, IMO.

I agree. It's frustrating because I am that "extra two minutes" guy. Anyone that really cares to know can read my comments and another 200 on another board and see that.
I'm headed to the car to drive home now so you all get another hour and a half of dogpiling where I can't log in to defend myself! Yea!

Jason,
I sent you the first PM on the 3rd at about 10:15pm, you are correct. I checked for a response yesterday morning (the 4th). No response, but it showed that you had logged in to OLH around 9am that morning. I checked back last night, and saw no response but it showed that you had logged into OLH at around 9pm last night. So, after seeing that you had logged into OLH at least twice over the course of a full 24 hours, without responding to my PM, I started this thread last night.
Then again, you logged in at around 9am this morning without responding to my PM. It was only when I sent you a second PM this afternoon, that you got around to writing me back. You had two verifiable chances to respond, which would have been three had I waited until this morning to start this thread to get the community's opinion. I didn't sneak behind your back and start a thread here.
From your language, I guess you're just embarrassed that people actually saw how you packed my box.

I know this is the BZ, but no need to dogpile on Jason. He seems like a genuinely good guy (besides telling me to F off). He just packs his cigars differently than I would. They did get here mostly in one piece, but it was risky. Half of the reason I posted the photos was to see if I was the only one to think it was a very poor way to pack cigars for shipping.
Jason, yes Ravi might ship that way sometimes, but his cabs have lids.

First of all the pictures are very convenient for you and not at all representative of what it looked like on my end. Second, my language doesn't have anything to do with this. I said from the beginning I am frustrated and disappointed in myself. I had every intent to make that a bombproof package and I'm must have been high on exhaust fumes or something for you to be upset with the end result. Asked what you were wanting. You said nothing. That would have been a great fucking time to say oh by the way I started a thread so the peanut gallery could have another public flogging victim for the day. As far as logging in, I can assure you I have not been on OLH all day. I have been on my computer twice for work and OLH is always in one window in my browser. I guess technically I'm logged in. Did I see any of your messages? No way.
Have I had a hundred people happy with the way things were packaged? Yep. Were you happy? Nope. Did I deserve to be treated the way you have? No way. I can do better packaging the next cigars, but morals are harder to fix. Good luck with that.

When? I have never seen something like this from Ravi in the past year.
