I can't help but laugh at the idea of someone who wants to call out someone on provenance of someone else has been using the same "jedi mind tricks" over the years over their own.

Care to elaborate? Or are you simply making vague accusations of your own?

You've never seen Johnny engaged in discussions about provenance, have you?

To be fair, Johnny has never come out and claimed these cigars are anything other than his blend (to my knowledge anyway)
Its always his consumers who have said they're Cuban/Not Cuban. Johnny hasn't publicly said where they come from so theres no reason he would have to supply provenance
Now if he were coming out and saying his customs were rolled by Hamlet at the Partagas factory using Medio Tempo and Leigro, then some proof would be required, but as its pretty much a case of "these are my blends, these are the vitolas I offer, here is the price for them" I don't think he needs to prove anything

Here, here! Additionally, looking at his other offerings (rum, cigarettes, cigarillos) one can deduce where the customs come from. I think the idea always has been to protect the identity of the rollers so they didn't get in trouble, not to mislead the consumer.
Anyone who has ever purchased boo or other gray or black market goods knows that provenance is often elusive and known solely to the seller of the product. At the end of the day, it's the product that speaks for itself.
I now return you to your flame war, already in progress:

Be sure and make deposits in all areas of your life, because at some point you will need to make a withdraw. No deposits are more important than those made in relationships.

Smoking a J-O 1966 right now and it is PHENOMENAL! If I played name-that-blend, I would say HUpmann/Montecristo hybrid with a little RyJ churchill series on the backend.
If these are Nicaraguan or Dominican, I need to know which manufacturer is playing with this caliber of tobacker!

Not disputing this, but it seems that Johnny has cast accusations of people being taken by his competition while offering no evidence. He sure was quick to throw in TL into the discussion for comparison but ducks and runs.
I believe the customs turf war is an accurate description here. Stock must not be moving as well now. :)

Both guys get good stuff. I think the only proper solution is a price war !
