Love it or hate it, Wade has made it crystal clear that this is a self-policing site.
Thus, the BZ. There are plenty of carefully moderated boards out there. This isn't one of them.
This is the Wild West. Bring your own gun, there ain't no sheriff in this town.

Yep. It's likely not a coincidence that these sorts of scams are vastly more likely to show up here than elsewhere, too.

I know its a tad late in the game but I recall another fella named "blackwatch" with CGRs and other big money items. I took the pictures he had and compared them to google images and they were simply stock photos from other vendors or collectors. Mentioning this as it may be a good practice to cross reference those pics or ask for a pic with a note next to it (though I'm sure one can photoshop or alter anything these days). Either way, it may prove to be too much work for a lazy scammer at least. Very sorry to hear about many folks getting taken by this d-bag.

How is this Wade's issue? This is a marketplace where the risk is on the buyer. Due diligence goes a long way buying on the Internet. Whether it is OLH, eBay, Amazon, or any other website that sells things.
What do you want Wade to come in and say? "I banned the user and IP?" That is all he can essentially do, isn't it?

I think that may also have to do with the fact that OLH is really a marketplace, as opposed to a forum. I certainly have friends here, and appreciate the BZ banter, but the main purpose of this site is a place to TSB cigars. That may have something to do with why scammers come here, because they know what most of the people who visit this site are looking to do.

Blackwatch was Lieberman. He tried to pull a scam with Pappy van Winkle as well. But I recall him being outed at some point around Xmas 2013...
Interesting, he claimed his name was Steve in the beginning as well.

Also a possibility, for sure. Or some combination of the both.

Wade has made it clear he doesn't deal with scammers.
He has repeatedly said he doesn't get involved with TRADES. But, he has consistently banned scammers when they are outed, as should be. But only Wade can compare IP's with other users to ensure multiple accounts aren't being used to continue the deceit. Self policing or not, members do not have this IP advantage to out potential scammers and their numerous handles they may have registered under.

This is definitely true, would love to know where the IP indicates this scumbag came from....

Re: HUGE SCAMMER "HighEndCigars" Ripping off people!!!!!! Wade Pleae BAN him
This is Wades site. Wade usually stays away from banning scam artist. He will permaban people for multi accounts. As stated, this is a self policing site. I'm curious to know if Wade would ban this individual if we all took a vote? It couldn't hurt. Again I'll state, this is his site for us to use. Wade is the ultimate authority and can let his hammer swing as freely as he wishes. Put up a vote in this thread, or start another with a vote window, and see what happens.
