What a surprise. Zebrasocks is once again hijacking a thread. If you want to talk about Rob's cigars, why not create a different thread? Perhaps not in BZ? Or better yet, use one of the many that is already in existence (here or there)? :horse:
On topic (somewhat), just had a EL Robusto. Fantastic as usual, to quote mbflash80 "the cigars are awesome so I stopped worrying about "what they were" a long time ago".

But then you wouldn't have anything to bitch about, Max :kissa:

I'm glad you've taken the time to learn my name (and that you seem to shit post just to give me something to bitch about) despite us never having any shared business. Nonetheless, what you're doing is still shit posting. At best, highly off topic.

Not any more off topic than the tripleligero stuff above but that didn’t seem to bother you. Why don’t you make your very own thread about me in the BZ? Would love to hear what you got.

Interesting...I have smoked through nearly all of the EL line and have associated the flavors with the cigars they are modeled after to a certain degree...but make no mistake, with the inconsistency of CC cigars saying something tastes like or doesnt taste like something is pretty futile and foolhardy...I realize that...the good news is that the cigars are awesome so I stopped worrying about "what they were" a long time ago...mystery adds to the romance of the cigars I guess...

Agreed. Hence why I have been buying from him for 15 years.

Have you seen me posting in this thread before? How do you know that I've read it prior? How do you know that it doesn't bother me? The fact that you had bumped the thread made me interested (seeing as you badmouth JO both here and on other forums). Little surprise, your post was off-topic and garbage.
Your whole point is: "look at all the other people doing the same thing, why are you angry ONLY AT ME for doing wrong?". I bet you were a fun kid to grow up around. "But miss, Billy also took two pieces of cake! He should also be in detention!".

That’s the best you’ve got? I’m not losing any sleep over trolls like you “calling me out”. Kind of cool to have my own personal post stalker, though.
For someone that has never done any deals with me, you do seem pretty obsessed with putting me in my place - are you just generally a miserable person or did someone put you up to this? Do tell.
BTW, finding out your name was just a byproduct of me checking your feedback profile to see if we really never did any deals.

I didn't know I was supposed to impress you "with what I've got". You might need to update your definitions of troll and stalker though. What have I posted that makes me a troll? Saying that writing about Rob's Nudies in a BZ thread about John is off topic? "Do tell".
Oh how I wish I had done business with you. It is probably my fault. I remember seeing those Punch DCs for $120 a stick and thinking: "Damn, he is practically giving those away. I can't with good conscious buy them that cheap!"
And yes, there is definitely someone that put me up to this, working in the shadows. Your delusion of grandeur knows no limits.
Or maybe, just maybe, it is much simpler. To paraphrase the great Lotusguy from this thread: "I could [...] just keep my trap shut [...] but the arrogance in those kinds of replies just irritates the shit out of me".

A bunch of seasoned members gave rave reviews of TL’s scam cigars...until he was exposed. Then...crickets.
Hutch, if you remember correctly, I actually was the one who found out why these people including me, were giving good reviews to the "Trinidad 40th anniversary" cigars he was selling. He was actually buying, from Puro Express boxes of the Trinidad Robusto Extra cigars (50 x 155) and was merely adding a band to make them look different. Remember, very few people had ever seen or smoked cigars from the 40th anniv. humidor. There were only 400 of these humidors made. The cigars were similar in size (52 x 150). The reason they got good reviews was because they WERE Trinidad cigars, just not the 40th anniv. cigars. He was buying Trinidads for about $10/cigar and selling them as ones from the humidors for $40-60/cigar.
I remember a similar scam when Mitchel Orchant from Cgarsltd was selling cigars claiming they were from the 1996 Espesialidad humidors that Christof Wolters had specially commissioned from Habanos SA. That was back in 2004. Orchant was selling "humidor #80" of the 100 humidors made for Wolters. Problem was that he was also selling singles from that humidor #80. Question #1 was how can you sell singles from Humidor #80 and still sell the intact humidor. Well a few people purchased singles and low and behold they weren't 1996 Espesialidad Salomones at all. How did they know that? Well in order for Wolters to get the OK from Cuba to make these cigars he had to cut the feet 10mm. In addition, the humidors themselves had to be manufactured to hold these cut feet cigars. The ones sold by Orchant didn't have cut feet. He eventually claimed that while these weren't actual 1996's they were rolled at the same time by the same rollers with the same tobacco as the 1996's. Basically they were custom Salomones which tasted very good. If not for the discrepancies set forth above, they would have passed muster with buyers like the Trinidads that Triple Ligero was selling. Orchant was exposed as a fraud (yet many people continue to buy from him and he somehow has kept a decent reputation in the vintage cigar community. For more info you can visit www.cigarweekly.com and visit their Club Habanos Archives.
The point being there are some great tasting cigars out there which are being sold as something that they are not. If you don't care about provenance and only care about taste then you are fine. If provenance is important to you then take those steps to verify. If it looks too good to be true it probably is.

Well put. The only thing I’d add is that TL sold quite a few other HTFs that were not as purported, which got rave reviews from folks here and other forums.
