Come on Mike, I would think from the many times we have smoked in chat, though never in person that you would see that is not what I doing.  I just find it hypocritical that the same person in this thread that says profiteering is ok, but not gouging.  It is hard to gouge when these cigars are not something we need, that is all I am trying to say.  As others have said, that is what the BZ is for.  Same reason I am here, to have a discussion.  However, if anyone has another view they get called a douche, gouger, etc.. birds flocking together, etc.

Your pathetically weak attempt at trying to justify gouging is transparent and only reinforces what has been said about you on this thread.  In your eyes, being lumped into the same category as Clint may seem like a boon, but in the end, all you've accomplished is a permanent staining of your reputation.  Again, BRAVO!
I am not attempting to justify gouging, just from the factual definition of what gouging is, I do not see it how anyone can be gouged on cigars,  Yes, people sell for profit here, we see it every day.  These are not things we HAVE to have.  And what was said about me on this thread, was one post that had no fact to it, I never listed a box 'for like $700', it was actually listed $515, the same price that I was offered when I first acquired it.  Right what it cost me in buying the box and the cigars I offered for getting them.  But people will believe what they want to believe and people can post what they want to post and some will believe it without doubt, like the TL stuff that most were onboard with until questions started being posted.

But I always love good conversation and if anyone is ever in my neck of the woods my home and humidors are always open up to any brother.

How about this for a definition....from Webster's Dictionary

Gouge: an excessive or improper exaction : extortion

and so you don't have to look up extortion:

Extortion: something extorted; especially : a gross overcharge

I highlighted the last part.  Also, you talk luxury...yet you mention medicine and gas.  Having a car is a luxury....and in my opinion, so is medical treatment (won't care to debate that further at this time though).  Also clothes can be a luxury too...I see a lot of fault in your "luxury" argument.

I don't have issue with someone getting some profit because they have stored a box of cigars (HTF or not) for a long period of time.  But when you buy a box, only to sell it a month or two later...that is gouging in my opinion.

Yes, what he says...  And you defending his extortion must mean you have been in such practice and therefore yes birds of a feather flock together.  You may not believe in a brotherhood or men sharing a passion of this hobby like most of us but I DO.

Oh yeah and let me add Brian you keep defending shit practices like that I don't care how open your humidors are for fellow brothers not many of them will want to share in the experience with you, just a little food for thought.

Clint and plush you guys are being chastised mostly by guys from your home board of BOTL.  Think about that for a second and realize that you are pissing on your own community not just a bunch of strangers.  Either way it's shitty and makes you douchebags in my opinion. Maybe it'll sink in when you're not as welcome at "home".

Thanks Jere, at least you can present a side and not get personal with and attack.  I would say my use of the word luxury may be a bad choice but I hope it can be seen what I mean.  Sure cars and some clothes are luxuries, we don't 'need' either besides basic clothing.  It is just two side of a coin, we just flip it and go from there.  I remember being with you on the same side standing on the streets of Esteli and I would do it again.  I do believe in a 'brotherhood' and as you have said I have meet hundreds and smoked with them, even those we like to make fun of. :)

Peace

Terran, if this the Terran that have had many a smoke with on chat, I don't think I am defending him or anyone for that matter who some might think as 'gouging'.  I just think it funny how some set certain standards of what is acceptable selling practices (x # of years old) then it is ok to sell and make a profit.  My door is always open and those who wish to enter are always welcome.  I think you for the food for thought.  I try to be good, live good and treat others well.

Thanks man.  My intent is not to piss on anyone.  Like all the boards I belong too, I am there to discuss of passion for cigars and this 'brotherhood', and to meet others likeminded.  Some people we may not like, that is till we meet them, and some others we would just keep it that way. But thanks for the insight.
